For those interested in the data of SAFA (safety assessment foreign airlines) inspections in the NL, the final report covering year 2004 is available on the IVW website.

Out of the list of 30 or so carriers where "major" infringements have been found, six of them are Turkish; Onur for its part can be found six times with Cat 3 (major defaults) inspection reports....that was in 2004.

The list mentions the defects and the type of a/c, not the registration.

Similar data does not seem to be available fro Belgum's RLW/RVA, unfortunately.

Who has to find 'a' solution?

Ya, posted that because of this read carefully:
Onur’s spokesman Rauf Gerz said the flights to Belgium "could last until the authorities from the different countries concerned find a solution."
These pretentious people declare blandly: until the authorities from the different countries concerned find a solution...

For the good order of this:
It were NOT the authorities from the different countries concerned that were found in breach of international aviation regulations.
As says dear iakobos well, 20% of the "major" infringements found are Turkish.

Why then, should the authorities from the different countries concerned find a solution, it is to the pretentious Turks to find a solution, and imho to apologise to the public in the first place.

These incompetent people cost 'the authorities from the different countries concerned' a lot of money, because of the inspections.
And 'the authorities from the different countries concerned' that is us the taxpayers of the Netherland, Germany, Switzerland and the rest.

How long can this last? This kind of attitude is clogging our european administrations, from aviation inspections to justice departments. Do we really need this kind of incidents? (I try to stay polite, avoiding to get :censored: , while the arrogance of these people has free range, I am really  at this attitude.)

People can earn their money legally, all other ways are theft. Using illegal means to earn money is theft, no less. Using inadequate equipment, kicks competition out of the market, kicks people out of their jobs. That can be considered as theft, crime.
If an European road forwarder uses inadequate equipment, equipment with lack of maintenance, or without the necesary certificates or licences, or if he makes his drivers do exessive overtime, and risk therewith the lives of people, in Europe these entrepreneurs risk jail, because that is considered crime. Now I'm really  , I better take 5.

Thanks for the info and welcome to Luchtzak iakobos.

Do you know where I could find a copy of that list? Or can you tell us the names of other airlines which are on the list ?

Many thanks

According to a topic on Airliners.net, also Belgium will ban Onur Air.

So far, nothing in the media about a possible ban.

Don't know if they have only 2, but I know that the inspection-team consists of retired pilots and flight attendants.
