I heard it on the national news and it's also mentioned in 'teletekst'.

Terrible news...

Op de site van Het Belang van Limburg staat er een zeer kleine en slechte foto, maar ik kan er niks uit opmaken.

I happened 1 km from my home. When I past there the road was already blocked by the police.
The rotors of the helicopter must have hit a lightpole while he was trying to land (emergency ?) on a open space nearby.

I just saw it on the news on tv,

helicopter was a Robinson R22...

On the original report on hln.be they also said that there was a gasstation on fire, but this is incorrect... Then again, they also said on hln.be that most trains were running again after 2pm, which was total bs...

The only thing that the gasstation has to do with the story is that it's only 100 m away from the crashsite

Very sad news indeed :( According to eye-witnesses the pilot tried everything he could to avoid buildings, a gasstation and a school and that he should have an award for bravery!

The operator of the ill-fated aircraft was Rotor & Wing Business.
They operate 2 Robinson R22's (OO-RWB and OO-RWC) and 1 R44 (OO-RWF).

The aircraft was on a photoshoot-mission which is rather dangerous because the aircraft is operated in or nearby the dead-man curve,
in case of an engine-failure very little time is left to perform an auto-rotation...
