That's not a good news for Onur.
Let's jope they'll get things right in the coming month.
But on the other hadn I'am happy to see that the netherlands are doing great efforts to keep "unsafe" airlines out of their country. The entire EU should work together and do the same....
BTW does someone know if Onur is planning to increase the capacity out of BRU and transport dutch tourists who have already booked a flight with a bus to Zaventem ?

Who cares about Onur? Or Phuket Air?
I'm more worried about the passengers. Fortunately in Europe we have competent and non-corruptible people who inspect the aircraft.
Onur and Co. should be ashamed to ask money to put people in jeopardy. Hopefully we now will see some lawyers who find find a way to claim compensation from these companies for having put the lives of their passengers, their staff and other people who live under the routes these aircraft fly. And make them pay for the harm they did.
Such companies are a shame to the industry.
The french authorities allowed dangerous eqyptian operation, we know what was the result of that. And how many people paid the highest price. This has to stop.
So who cares if that is 'not a good news for Onur'? Not me.

Quoted from luchtvaartnieuws.nl
Very weird considering they cannot fly into The Netherlands anymore.
In short it reads that Airbus gave an award of excellence to Onur Air for its use of the A321‘Airbus onderscheiding voor Onur Air’
12-05-2005

I just heard the radio news:
Press release Dutch board off transport and waterways:
They are banned due the next incidents on Dutch (airspace) territory:
• Schiphol: After take off, the plane returned to the airport with engine problems. First off all the captain refused technical examination. After examination of Onur technicians they did 1 hour check with engine. After this check, they released the plane for active duty. @ the same time, Dutch technicians did an check, and found a big error in the engine oil system. The engine is replaced, the plane left the next day Dutch port.
• Groningen Airport : during decent the pilot reports an landinggear problem, but landed safe.
• Groningen airport ( earlier this year ) plane of onur overruns the runway.
• Onur leased 2 lockheed tristar`s, both planes had hydraulic problems, one tristar ( the sierra leone one ) was flying with an engine what had to replaced because she had reached her maximum take off`s and cruise hours
• The 2 lockheeds where banned from Dutch airports.
• Turkey, 1 a300 abort take off because off fire alarm in cargohold
• Maastricht; 1 onur a300 had to try for 3 times to become airborne at the very end of the runway.
• Maastricht, 1 onur plane had problems with breaking at the runway; 1 engine reverse did not work, and one of the airbrakes had an error on the same time, result that the plane almost overrun the runway.
• Maastricht, 1 Onur plane had to abort the take off due engine problems on both engines.
Some of the cabincrew did nt speak good english, some off the cabin crew was not good trained for safety course A300.
Pilots using expired naviagation and airport charts
All, problems are with the a300 and lockheeds of onur.
All passengers will be re booked on Transavia, Condor, Tui Netherands, Tui Belgium, Happag lloyd and MNG and LTU fligts ( with tranfers to Brussels, Cologne and Dusseldorf airports )
In 4 weeks, Onur gets an audit ( by turkisch and dutch safety boards ), the will exam Onur at the following points:
Technical condition fleet ( special a300 )
Crew training
Medical reports crew
Language check
Flying procedures
when this is ok, onur is allowed to return to dutch airport. When this is not good, Onur is Banned for an life time in dutch airports.

Well if you had read further in my post you would have seen that I am very happy to see that they are banned and that authorities in the Netherlands are doing their work !!!!!
Please don't take sentences out of their context like that, because you totally change the meaning of them.

Will Belgian travel agencies take actions and fly another airliner. Because the press is releasing al this but Belgian tourists still have to fly with those aircraft.
And is MNG also flying in Holland? Because the technical condition of those aircraft isn't that good also.
They will probably not do anything claiming that Onur is coming to belgium with very safe A321's and not with A300's and L-1011's.
But I sincerely hope that travel agents will boycott them over here as well.
An airline isn't just unsafe with one type of aircraft, that's wishfull thinking. If an airline tends to neglect maintenance on some planes it does this on the entire fleet and not only on one specific types.
It would be much better if the EU would work together and ban dangerous airlines from the entire EU immediately instead of doing this country by country.
Chris
The technical condition of the MNG and Fly air ( both tukish )A300 `s are better then the a300= what means they did noting wrong in dutch airspace / dutch airports and there where no incidents in dutch airspace / airports... An a300 ( when it gets proper maintance ( like the a300 of TNT and EAT / DHL ) ist not an bad aircraft at all.......... ( and i am saying that as an real boeing fan )Fiero wrote:Now I wonder?

However, Onur sad that it banned i Dutch airports to protect dutch charterairlines, know that makes me sad.... They banned because they where ( according to the dutch safety inspection ) unsafe..... its bad that ( maby ) the whole world will think the Netherlands did this to protect there one fleet. When you are looking to the airlines where onur passengers will booked on, you will see that there is no Martinair and no KLM and a lot foreing airliners to fly this pax.......................so the dutch airline industry dont makes an profit off it...
Is Onur still allowed to fly in Belgium?

Indeed good job from the Dutch authorities. There was a linked topic in Luchtvaartnieuws. There are a lot off unsafe airlines flying in Europe.
Safety first, safety above high prices.
Jetair writing on there site that they fly only with reliable and safe airlines. How can they be sure that for example MNG is safe or an other carrier?[/i]

Totally changed?Avro wrote:Please don't take sentences out of their context like that, because you totally change the meaning of them.Chris
Your answer statement was ambiguous....
I'll give you the context: BTW does someone know if Onur is planning to increase the capacity out of BRU and transport dutch tourists who have already booked a flight with a bus to Zaventem?
And
I'am happy to see that the Netherlands are doing great efforts to keep "unsafe" airlines out of their country.
Happy in the Netherlands, ok but wondering if the capacity of "unsafe" airlines can be increased in Belgium.
This looks not 'totally changed' for me...
Tell us all, if you would accept that the Belgian authorities would allow to increase that capacity?
Re: So who cares? Not me.
Of course not !! I never said that. I just wondered if Onur was planning to increase capacity in the neighbour country Belgium to pick up their dutch tourists ? That's all.SN30952 wrote: Tell us all, if you would accept that the Belgian authorities would allow to increase that capacity?
But trust me I don't want to see those L-1011 from Onur coming to BRU just because they aren't alloed to go to NL. If they are banned according to dutch standards they should also be banned in Belgium.
I hope that I'm clear enough now and that you've understood my point of view.
Chris
re
@ Avro: i see your point off view from the beginning of this topic!
Keep on doing the good ( view ) work!

I learn now, Onur is also out of Germany. And that was their biggest market.
We are waiting to hear from the belgian authorities now.
