Aer Lingus said today it is to axe its service to Orlando from 14 January 2006, and has blamed the union representing cabin crews following the failure to agree to necessary work practice changes, though IMPACT denies this is true.

Lets face it, Aer Lingus does not have any viable futur besides maintaining a effective link to main european hubs. It is not a union issue, i actually find it quite surprising that they dare put the blame on a union. The issue is that they face BA, AF-KLM and Lufthansa-Swiss on transcontinental plus a few US carriers. There is no room for Aer Lingus on that market.
