Hello there, I'm looking forward to buying my first camera for taking my plane spotting to the next level. Do you have any tips for me?
I'm looking for a camera that is relativly cheap, and can take great pictures from a distance of around 50-100m.
Thanx in advance Prom.

there are a lot of options, but a dslr type came will be obligatory...
Compact cameras will just not do, mainly because of shutterlag...
Most people here will recommend you to buy a Canon 300D or the new 350D, which is the cheapest choice...
I'm a Nikon user for many years now, I will recommend you Nikon offcourse...
Best is not to listen to much to recommendations, just go out to a shop and try the different brands and types and choose for yourself, the quality of all these camera's is always good, so in a way you can't go wrong...
Offcourse, if you have Canon or Nikon lenses from your analog slr camera I wouldn't even doubt about it and just buy the same brand, cause you can keep using those lenses...
Keep in mind that you will have to go through a pretty steep learning curve, the first pictures you take will probably be very bad (dark, out of focus, ...) but don't let this discourage you, as you gain more experience with your camera your pics will get better, it just takes time...
Just my 2 cents...
