bye bye Boeing 757.....

Post by V-Bird »

Today, the last built Boeing B 757 is delivered to Shanghai airlines. In
total boeing built 1050 aircrafts of this type. The first b 757 was delivered in 1982 to Eastern Airlines.

What a sad day for a lovely and powerful aircraft. Flown on a 752 (ET from ADD to NBO) once and it certainly was an experience i will never forget. I think it is the most comfortable narrow body flight i have ever had.

I totally agree with, the 757 is very comfortabel and smooth flying, even in turbulence it feels stable.
I do have to say I didn't fly narrow body Airbus yet, all I hear is good things about it.

It's a pity that they took the 757 out of production, such a wondefull airliner. Probably the best boeing narrowbody ever....

Bye 757...we will miss you

so now Boeing only will have the 737 narrow body? as they seem to be discontinuing the B717, is that correct?

I never had the oportunity to fly on the Boeing 757, but from what I hear she will be missed.

It has proven to become a reliable and safe airline, and with 1050 deliveries world wide the numbers speak for them selfs.

Not to worry she will prevail in the sky for many years to come even if only as a cargo carrier. :D :D

It's sad to see the Boeing 757 go out of production, I flew it once but can't remember much of it (apart from the 17-hour delay).
At least we will see loads of B757's flying around the world for the coming years, so plenty opportunities to fly on one.

There is a slight chance that I will fly the B757 on Shanghai Airlines this summer, let's hope I will.

I guess B757's will still fly in 2030 and beyond. So you will have the opportunity to fly on board one of the 1000.

I flew BA 757 the first time in 1985 and the inpression I got I still remember. Very long cabin and spacious. 31 minutes flight.
One of the last times was SJO-HNL with AA, 5h16 minutes flight. Very confortable airplane.

As you all know, I am a huge fan of the 757. I will never forget my first flight of the 757. It was 2002 and we flew on a NW 757-200 from Detroit to Orlando. The flight went very well and I have been a big fan of the 757 ever since.

I am dissapointed to see the 757 fading into the sunset, but I am excited to see the future of aviation. I have a lot of confedience in the 787 and as others mentioned, the 757 will be around for many years to come.

She's a good bird. I've been on them on a few occasions and I can say without a doubt in my mind that she is the most comfy narrow-body plane that I've flown on.

Gone but not forgotten

No more production line for this workhorse as the 737 fills its slot in the factory.

I am fortunate to have a view of the Abbotsford Airport, where Cascade Aerospace has its MRO facility, and there are two 757's parked there right now awaiting conversion to freighters. So the rocket will be in the air for a long time to come.

It's a pity that they shut down the production of this aircraft... especially because the just introduced the B757 with winglets.....

I thought it was a positive addition to this aircraft.
