I wouldn't be surprised to see CX ordering some A380's.

"We believe that it could be centred on a mix of B787s and a sprinkling of A380s as well as A340-600s." said Turnbull.
I'm surprised they wouldn't want to keep fleet commonality and have A380's, the A346's and A350's. It would make more sense than having a hodgepodge of different airplane types.

I wouldn't expect any new orders in the next weeks. Airbus has gotten orders over the past few weeks/months, but hasn't officially announced them.

Le Bourget 2005 will become the time when Airbus will announce all those orders at once ! I wouldn't be surprised if some of those orders wrer for 380 or even 350 !

I too beleive that Airbus has something up its sleeves. Airbus loves the spot light, no better place to do it than the Paris Airshow.

I would put my money on Emirates putting a follow on order or convertion for the A380-900 model.

Cathy Pacific should also place some order maybe for six.

Last week i read in the newspaper ( de financiele telegraaf ) that KLM is not intressed in the A380 ( its way to big for klm, they have just 2 routes - according to there spokesman - where they can use an a380. According to there spokesman the next generation "big " airplanes will be the 747adv.

It would be very nice to see AF-KLM becoming one of the very few groups around the world to operates both B747-Adv and A380s. Also, I strongly expect that KLM will order some B777-300ERs.

One Airline won't order a-380

Post by Pete628 »

I know one airline that wont order the A-380, that is Continental Airlines. We have ordered the 787. I still cant imagine loading a thousand bags or so.

My few bucks on Air china (between 2 to 5 aircrafts?).
Horsepower wrote:CX stated recently they are not in a hurry to buy any new widebodies at the moment.

Currently, CX is interrested by:
A380-800 or B747-Adv (I would go for A380)
A340-600 or B777-300ER (I would go for B777)
A350-800 or B787-800/900 (I would go for B787)

Since the specs of the A350 have changed, I going to change my stance:

A380-800 or B747-Adv (I would go for A380)
A340-600 HGW or B777-300ER (No idea!)
A350-800 or B787-800/900 (I would go for A350)

Paris Airshow order: the latest A380 customer is Kingfisher, it orders 5 A380 and other 10 Airbus widebodies (including 5 A350 and 5 A330)

Any chance of adding another new A380 customer in the Airshow?

Congratulations, Airbus! :)

No.

Any chance of adding another new A380 customer before the end of the year?

It is not impossible said N. Forgeard, CEO of Airbus SAS.

I doubt Hainan Airlines will order the A380. :? If it does, Cathay should be the customer before Hainan ordering it.

I hope Airbus will grap some other orders for the A380 within this year.
The five from Kingfisher is good, but they need a little more to underline
the success of the megaliner. I hope that C will go for it and maybe BA the
one or the other day ! :D

I'm still waiting for the moment that an VIP A380 will be ordered by someone from the middle-east. Well, that would be one hell of a private jet, lot's of room for stuff like a pool, golf course you name it. One can put so much things in a A380, and for some people from the middle-east money is not the problem.
