Today ( fri sept 19th ) PP-XJA visited BRU , specially for SNBA who seems to be interested to buy this type of aircraft .
I was lucky and managed it to take some shots from both inside and outside , before it left to Jersey with the complete SNBA-management on board .
Watch ane enjoy
Regards
Pieter
PS : it can take a while for all pics to load cause they are at full quality .
Yes it's a very nice plane . But they won't buy it ! They don't have to money for it, but it's possible that they'll lease it. Whatever, SNBA doesn't know for the moment wich plane will replace their Avro RJ85/RJ100 and BAe 146 for the moment. But it seems that Embraer took a good place in the decision of SNBA. But Airbus, Boeing and Canadair are still in concurence with Embraer, nobody knows the final decision...
But I would still prefer the B717 instead of the ERJ170.
The B717 (DC-9) model has been flying for more than 30 years now and is very reliable. Don't forget the Embraer is a new aircraft, it has still to prove itself.
Wow!!! Afer seeing these pix, Bart will fall in love with that plane.
One thing horrifies me: the plane took off with ALL SN BA's management on board?
That is very bad management. If the plane crashes, SN BA has no directer anymore. In my previous company, such a thing would never have happened. Even when they were using Abelag planes for a board visit abroad, at least a couple of directors took another plane.
I don't think this a/c can replace the ARJ's on all routes. Looks to me that the hold capacity is compared to the cabin capacity. What I mean is that when all pax have 1 or 2 bags (which they will have on feeder routes), you might not be able to load everything.
I think this a/c is typical for 1 day journeys
Well well, Embraer meets SN Brussels Airlines again.... Well I allready saw it at Brussels and I really like it! It's like a car: it has to be fast and brand new !!
I'm rather sure that SNBA will be using these aircraft in the (near) future. It' the most cost-effective of them all, and with the EMB-190 flying around it has the perfect capacity to replace the Avros.
Go Embrear Go!
Can Embraer deliver the new aircrafts so fast as needed by SNBA? I don't know, the have a full orderbook. And that little flag could be a little trick that would make the mind of SNBA's director happy.
They need a variaty of airceafts like I told a in another topic:
liebesd wrote:The discussion here is about the fleet renewable of SNBA, but the only aircrafts where is talked about is from 70 until 110 or something. But if SNBA chooses one aircraft the have no flexibility of switching capacity. If they chose for a number of aircrafts than they have the flexibility of capacity. Now they have 32 aircrafts of Bae whit a capacity from +/- 80-100 and if you count the seats that are +/- 2882 seats. But is if the renew their fleet whit 5 A320(150 pax), 5 A319 (124 Pax), 10 A318 (107 pax) and 10 Embraers 145 (+/- 50pax) they have 2940 seats. When their do this they can change the capacity of the aircrafts to the needs of the traffic.
