A recent test shows that every employer uses internet at work about 1 hour per day, your boss will not mind you use the www for the next 30 mins ;-)

The A380 has taxied and is now lined up with runway 32L!

She's airborne! Thanks CNN International for the great coverage. As could be expected, the Airbus website streaming video was a mess with only 0,3 FPS during the takeoff roll :(

It's not good when it's done, it's done when it's good...

8O 8O WOnderful, stunning, but most of al POWERFUL :!: :D

I always said this aircraft was ugly (in my eyes), but this is still a major achievement by Airbus.
ANd the plane arlready looks nicer to me :P

And what an excellent PR campaign around this first take-off .

I don't know if you heard the sound but it seemed quite soft for such a big & powerful plane. That should reassure all those who said it's gonna make a hell of a noise on t/o an approach

ciao,
TriStar :)

And thanks to my brother who was unable to use his airbus.com login today, but gave it to me instead :)

Great job Airbus.
Congrats to the design team.

It was a great sight to see it become airborne.

TriStar,

The airplane is not full, far from even! When they will do full take off (so with full fuel, and MTOW) you will hear much more!

But what a beautiful rotation!

On the livestream I could hear that landing is foreseen based on the tests that will be performed above the Atlantic Ocean, they will inform everyone at the airport 10 minutes before landing. Keep your ears open ;-)

Congratulations, Airbus and A380! :D

That's really a miracle that the heavy metal really fly into the sky! I has just used half of the runway for taking off. :D

Indeed Airbus_fan, I forgot that it was almost empty

But nevertheless it was a big WWOW ( ;) ), when it took of.

They are continuing to broadcast on Airbus.com, now they show everything that happened before t/o again, and in several minutes we'll get an update on the flight (apparently live from the inside)

It's amazing how a plane get's more beautiful when it's in the air ;)
