Please reduce the use of @hotmail.com in your accounts

Post by luchtzak »

Dear members,

please avoid using xxxx@hotmail.com in your accounts, on a daily basis my mailbox is filled with 'mail delivery error'-reports from hotmail.com for no reason.

Topic reply notifications, private message notifications, new member registrations,... it all comes back to my mailbox

Thanks,

Bart

There is a problem with spam at hotmail. The anti-spam works and put them in an other folder but now there a a lot of spam with 250k to 300k of attached piece. The mail box is so quickly full.

Use a Pandora mailbox, 50Mb !

And if you can't get that, use Gmail from Google, with 1Gb mailbox ...

@B737229: Hotmail has offered 250Mb for months now and will probably follow yahoo to 1Gb next month... (okay, not in Belgium, but almost anywhere else, so it's worth changing your address to any larger market)

@andries: Gmail currently offers over 2Gb and it keeps growing (it's actually kind of funny to see your storage allowance grow continuously)

@Bart: Why don't you create a message rule that redirects all bouncing messages notifications directly to your trash... Easy enough and the end of your problem...
And that seems more fair than asking hundreds of members to change their account provider for you... ;-)

Why always complain about hotmail? At least you don't need to pay anything to get quite decent e-mail!

If you like a mail or stuff, save it on your hard disk and delete it from your mailbox. I don't care getting 'only' 2MB! Just be reasonable guys...

@Bart:
What you can also do is creating an email address "no-reply AT luchtzak.be" which automatically bounces back the email to the sender and set "no-reply AT luchtzak.be" as the sender-address for all these notification emails ;)

I have been using G-mail for the past months now, and I'n quite happy with them.

But I didn't have it when I registered on luchtzak, where can I change my e-mail adress to my (new) G-mail adress?

Well if there is something like a free lunch, then i guess we must check out the taste of the same.

Yahoo had similar problems earlier, and now its hotmail. I guess, as B744skipper suggests, Gmail should be the mantra of the day.

We even have a member on our forums put in a post to send gratis invites for fellow members who would want to open a gmail account.

Well if you don't want to pay anything for a descent email use gmail! It is also free, much less spam and you get 2 gig!! I mean 2MB is nothing at all for the moment. You can't even send a picture by mail to somebody and when it is full you loose important emails. No way, just give me gmail.

Anyway if some people are still interested in gmail I still have some invites! Just let me know!
