AFAIK, the A380 has 4 FTRs, not 2! I don't know why they used the inners only.

About the maiden flight date, let's say someting around 20-22 (just a guess)!

Regards

Seb.

EDIT:
I just saw this remark above the last picture, so I don't know what to think  !
Low speed rolling with reverses (only 2 reverses on 380)
UPDATES: It is said on A.net that the maiden flight is planed for 22th APR.

Also, see this picture from the rear of the plane.

People may want to bookmark this French TV station link for possible coverage of the first flight.......

There was video coverage of the ground tests on April 15 (already posted here https://www.aviation24.be/postt10334.html )

There may very well be video of the first flight also, so keep tuned!

Here's the direct link

WRONG! the A380 has 2 FTR only, not 4!

Indeed, this is the APU maintenance access (see the elevator below the APU).

On behalf of all non french speakers ( i think the dutch, americans and germans )

Thanks in advanced!

That rear part looks awfully close to the ground!

Anyway, what maneuver is this exactly? Attempted take off? Or did the the cargo of 30 elephants walk to the back of the plane?

Good question!
Methinks, this is a Photoshop job, BECAUSE the Airbus site has a pic of the tail bumper which will be used on test flights.
NO tail bumper visible, ergo, FAKE!

Interesting discussion going on here (my source for the pic)

I'm not being suspicious but that pic looks a bit odd, don't ask me why, just odd... Lack of wing flex... Tail very close to the ground... Lack of people watching...
I am probably very wrong!! No doubt we'll see very soon!

@ gwillie:
Thanks for the link!

@ Mighty:
Whoa! I knew the An-225 was bigger than everything flying in the sky, but I didn't realize it was like that!
BTW, I hope An225-002 will fly one day (currently the airframe is in a hanger @ Kiev).
