I was a TWA 747 F/O one time, with 2 of my kids aboard. Eileen, 10, Tim, 9.

I had them with me on a trip to MAD/JFK, we missed at JFK, had to divert to IAD. Departing , we lost an engine, returned to nearest suitable, BAL, landed, PAX deplaned to TX to JFK, left my 2 kids behind, of course.

Released to Ferry to JFK, no PAX allowed on ferry flights. I informed the CAPT that my kids went too, or I stayed with them. We took them, in violation.

They had a ball! A whole B-747 cabin to themselves.

No reparcussions.

Got lucky. Life is good. Keep the faith.

I was flying from ATL-MIA and I believe that I only had 2 passengers...I was in a 737-200 and they were on their honeymoon on a 0645 departure....they also wanted to make the 'mile high club' too!

I'd hate to be the one who had to clean that A/C.

1993: On a flight from San Diego to LAX, I had some trouble with the shuttle to the airport, followed by a long queue. When I arrived at the gate, there was no plane. Then, an elderly couple arrived, followed by a member of the ground staff of USAir. She said something like, "Oh, I thought we had everyone already. We'll lay on a separate plane for you." Amazing as that sounded to me, the three of us did end up on a separate Beechcraft plane and were flown to LAX...

Two other flights with very few passengers:
- A 1991 SQ flight from CDG to AMS. The vast majority of passengers, coming from SIN, had left at CDG, and the B747 had less than twenty people on the last hop.
- A 1993 Garuda flight from Denpasar to Jakarta. With two friends, we made up half of the passengers, and were told we could sit in business class :)
