On 1 April 2005, La Libre Belgique announced that Ryanair was introducing smoking flights out of CRL. They would be more expensive, because of the need to clean air filters after each flight. The crew woud be composed of smoking volunteers.
Non-smokers would be admitted on the flights only after signing a statement that they would not hold Ryanair responsible for any cancer they would incur.
