Hello

Didn't knew Lufthansa was a that 'young' airline , to be such a large world-airline 50years is still kind a young.

Nice opportunity for spotters to see this one in the 'retro scheme' although I find it much nicer in the default colors.

Sorry , but my opinion. ;)

Best regards: Yannick

Lufthansa stopped living when it became Luftwaffe ;) after the war Lufthansa was reanimated again

But if they were trying to make a classic of this bird, oh my... they screwed it up very well!! Looks like a plastic toy. We want METAL on the belly, not grey...

On 6th January 1926 the two companies Deutsche Aero-Lloyd AG and Junkers Luftverkehr AG merged into Deutsche Lufthansa AG.

After the war, Deutsche Lufthansa was re-established in 1954 as a successor to the Gesellschaft für Luftverkehrsbedarf (Company for Air Traffic Demand ) which had been established in 1953.

The Deutsche Lufthansa GmbH was founded in 1952 in the German Democratic Republic. This airline was 100% property of the Soviet occupation government. The aim was to claim to be the legal successors, and hence the ownership, of the former Deutsche Lufthansa AG created in 1926.

Since the Soviet Union did not receive the assets of the former Lufthansa, it had to rent three Soviet airplanes to the German Democratic Republic, so that the Deutsche Lufthansa GmbH der DDR could take over air traffic in 1954. This was the real foundation of the East German airline.

The East German Lufthansa was handed over in 1953 by the Soviets to the East German state, to become a state-owned company. Only then did it become a really (East) German airline. Interflug was founded in 1958 as a second East German airline to operate charter flights, while the Deutsche Lufthansa GmbH der DDR kept operating the regular flights.

Legal litigation started in Bern in 1962 between East and West Germany over the trade mark Lufthansa. The court gave this name to the Federal Republic of Germany which implied that the East German airline had to change its name. This is how Interflug assumed also the regular flights and the East German Lufthansa ceased to exist. The Deutsche Lufthansa GmbH der DDR was dismantled in 1963.

Can anyone confirm the presence of D-AIRX tomorrow in BRU ? If the weather is ok I might try to snap the retro colours ;)

Hi All,

Just spoke with people at DLH, the a/c is NOT coming to BRU as planned, the rotations were swapped at the weekend. So far not 6-8 Apr and also it's at a public weekend in HAM this coming weekend, so maybe next week.

The guy did promise to SMS and Email further updates, which I'll forward as and when .....

Good afternoon,
Besides the one mentioned by Bruspotter, there were 2 others which I found very nice :
Slovak Airlines F100 OE-LGV
Cirrus Do328J
Well, I was happy with the TUI 767 and the UA767 new colors (again) too. You can't expect to have all the beauties in the most ideal conditions.
Furthermore, I have a request : a bizz-jet that was standing at Melsbroek took off just before the UA 767. Anybody an idea about the reg ?
