I thought I really had to write this as soon as I had the time to. I flew with VLM on the LCY- LPL route and had a great time. Excellent service, a really friendly crew, on-time arrivals and hand flown approaches . Some bigger carriers should have a look at their little neighbours.
A special thanks to Capt. Phil G. and FO Steve E.
Anyone want to share their experience of VLM?
Those are my flight reports for VLM flights. I agree they are a superb airline and their crews are very friendly and professional. Nice inflight snacks too - sandwiches, fresh fruit salad, pain au chocolat and 33cl cans of Belgian beer!
Wonderful airline.

Wow, I'll have to take down all the details for next time! Great reports Comet!
I do recall sitting in row 11 on the outbound flight, and I was due to sit in row 11 again on the return leg but the stewardess came up and asked if my neighbour and I didn't mind moving forward because the poor Fokker 50 had a slight CG problem. Apparently, they were happy with the change.
This move gave me the opportunity to sit right next to the props. That little aircraft sounded like a Seneca V on the way down into LCY. I loved every second of it.
Glad you liked the reports, thanks for mentioning them again, it brings back memories. I prefer to sit further forward on the Fokker 50 to see the props and also the landing gear better, but generally the views are great wherever you sit on those aircraft. I will have to have a flight on them again someday, just to remember how much I love the final approach into LCY
It would be good to hear more reports on this superb carrier.

On the subject of VLM memories, this is not a flight memory but one from Manchester the other week.
VLM regularly park just in front of my favourite photography spot in the cafe area. I was really lucky the other week because as well as OO-VLV arriving we also had OO-VLE. It was a delight to be so near the VLM parking spot because I got to see the whole pre-flight inspections, refuelling and boarding. Best of all, I got to hear the props tuning up! That is a superb, unforgettable sound - the Fokker 50 engine going up to full power, I could listen to it all day. I got to love the Fokker props in Iceland, with the distinctive noise of the Rolls Royce Dart used on the Fokker 27, and later on the Pratt and Whitney models used on the Fokker 50.
Although the Fokker 50 is a smaller aircraft, and not of much interest to many enthusiasts, I just think they are superb. I hope I get another flight on one someday.

A real change from the left seat, that's certain. You don't get half of the hassle or half of the views
I do have a few shots before the outbound departure, stand by, I'll try to upload them...
The LCY departure lounge is a great place to get close-ups!
