Should I buy it?
Should I buy it?
This afternoon I came across a 1:400 Herpa Northwest Airlines B743 in a shop. The price was very attractive but it was sold without the package. Should I buy it?
If you visit this link http://www.airfleets.net/flottecie/?fil ... 20Airlines
you will only see that NW operated 747 -100,-200,-400 versions and no 747-300's.

Guys,
As I said times before, just because they say (or don't say ) something on A.net does not mean it's th etruth.
NWA have two B747-300's registered to them, currently in storage in Marana, AZ are
Boeing 747-357M 22704/LN570 ex N270BC str MZJ
Boeing 747-357M 22705/LN576 ex N705BC str MZJ
both ex SWR machines and eventually destined for Freighter conversion....

I was about to say the same, A.net is not the aviation-bible
If you're hoping to get some money for it in future, you MUST have the box, because without the box it has only a fraction of the real valuewaldova wrote:Why not. Just make sure the model is in nice condition and if it is you can buy it. Anyway you are not going to keep the package, well at least i never keep the packages.

You will see that the only 300 series Boeing aircraft in Northwests fleet are the 757-351 Northwest originals, no mention of 747-300's!
PS
I'm sorry, I did not read all the posts on this topic before I put hand to keyboard, that will learn me for being in too much of a rush!
30/06/1999 FSB N270BC Registered to Northwest Airlines 21/12/01 - still stored at Mojave

I once had a Sabena Concord on my desk....
Dear cj_chan, as Rago suggests, if you buy, pay only "a fraction of the real value".Rago wrote:If you're hoping to get some money for it in future, you MUST have the box, because without the box it has only a fraction of the real value
And I would advise you to only pay a fraction of "any" value....
I once had a Sabena Concord on my desk.... I let it go, and the b.....d, who 'pinched' it, has a rare piece of aviation memorabilia now.
