Should I buy it?

Post by cj_chan »

This afternoon I came across a 1:400 Herpa Northwest Airlines B743 in a shop. The price was very attractive but it was sold without the package. Should I buy it?

Why not. Just make sure the model is in nice condition and if it is you can buy it. Anyway you are not going to keep the package, well at least i never keep the packages. ;)

But don't you think the package is the part of the model? I always keep the packages in a good condition because some of them are so beautiful.

I think it's a scam, because NW never had any B743 to mine, and A.net's knowledge...

There were no photos in the database matching your query.

Aircraft type: Boeing 747-300
Airline: Northwest Airlines

Still, any model would be nice...

If you visit this link http://www.airfleets.net/flottecie/?fil ... 20Airlines
you will only see that NW operated 747 -100,-200,-400 versions and no 747-300's.

If its a bargain, pick it up. Atleast you can have a dud or maybe it becomes a collectors item.

Personal choice and price is the issue i feel

Guys,

As I said times before, just because they say (or don't say ) something on A.net does not mean it's th etruth.

NWA have two B747-300's registered to them, currently in storage in Marana, AZ are
Boeing 747-357M 22704/LN570 ex N270BC str MZJ
Boeing 747-357M 22705/LN576 ex N705BC str MZJ

both ex SWR machines and eventually destined for Freighter conversion....

If you're hoping to get some money for it in future, you MUST have the box, because without the box it has only a fraction of the real value

You will see that the only 300 series Boeing aircraft in Northwests fleet are the 757-351 Northwest originals, no mention of 747-300's! :D :D

I'm sorry, I did not read all the posts on this topic before I put hand to keyboard, that will learn me for being in too much of a rush!

Dear cj_chan, as Rago suggests, if you buy, pay only "a fraction of the real value".
And I would advise you to only pay a fraction of "any" value....

I once had a Sabena Concord on my desk.... I let it go, and the b.....d, who 'pinched' it, has a rare piece of aviation memorabilia now.
