Hmm ... still in the vacation ... maybe ... maybe :P But as I heared from Tijs Mauroo, there will be no press at TLS that day, Airbus will film everything by themself!

 That's why Airbus don't want the press to whitness the first flight. They simply don't know which parts will fall off the plane :frantic:

That's a lovely thought, parts falling off a new airplane. (I'm kidding.)

I can't imagine parts falling of this plane. I should think they have learned from their older planes (A310). :)

Wrong, it's the 4th one ;-)

Keep this one open as the message clearly states a date for the A380 first flight.

Guess no press is allowed because things can go wrong, but press is always invited to join the spotters next to the runway/airport ;-)

Hi all,

just to let you know: 9 april is certainly not confirmed yet, and probably the first flight will rather be towards the end of april. Reason for the delay: technical problems (no severe ones, just final adjustments).

I got this info from a friend of mine who has an internship at Airbus. They seem confident but they just don't want to rush things (wise, if you ask me!)

Regards,

Fred

I cannot see how there would be any surprises(like the rudder falling off), I'm sure A/B have put every contingency into their simulator's computer & nothing can go wrong-wrong-wrong-wrong-wrong! :dammit: :dammit: :dammit: :dammit: :shakehead: :shakehead: :shakehead: :shakehead:

Airbus has taken precautions so that the first A380 flight will be a success.
I heard that they disguised a B744 as an A380......

The very first flight of the A380 will be delayed again.

Before the first flight they will perform a system and mechanical tests. They will also start the acceleration and braking tests on the runway!! The rumer goes that experts felt it would take at least two more weeks for these tests to be done.

So the date for the first flight is not clear. A newspaper quoted the airbus spokeswoman, she said that it was immaterial whether the aircraft had its first flight on April 10, 15 or 23 given it was to be sold for the next 35 years.

I'm sure it will be somewhere between APR 15-25. But my money on 20-25.

Seb.
