Ok here we go. I somehow feel obliged to answer this post
I suppose you want to know the difference between the RJ100, RJ85 and BAe146-200 (cause there is also the -100 and -300).
The BAe146-200 is basically the "older" version of the Avro RJ-85.
And the difference between the 85 and 100 is the size.
The biggest difference between the new generation RJ's and the older BAe146 are the different engines and the modernized (more digital) cockpit.
Now some figures:
BAe146-200:
Engines: 4 x31kN ALF 502R5 turbofans
Cruising speed: 767km/h
Range with max payload: 2095km
MTOW: 42,185kg
RJ-85:
Engines: 4 x31kN ALF 507 turbofans
Cruising speed: 763km/h
Range with max payload: 2129km
MTOW: 43,998kg
RJ-100:
Engines: 4x 31.1kN ALF 507 turbofans
Cruising speed: 763km/h
Range with max payload: 2129km
MTOW: 46,039kg
To visually see the difference between the BAe146-200 and the RJ-85 you just have to look under the tail. The BAe's have a little triangle which prevents from tail strikes while the RJ's usually don't have this installed. However, be careful ! Some RJ's have that as well. I suppose it was optional when the RJ came out. ??
And the visual difference between the RJ100 and the RJ85 is of course the size.
I hope this answers your question heathrow

Chris gives the most of it already...
Basically you have 3 different sizes:
ARJ-70 (70-80 seater)
ARJ-85 (85-100 seater)
ARJ-100 (110 seater)
The order versions are respectively:
BAe 146-100 (70-80 seater)
BAe 146-200 (85-100 seater)
BAe 146-300 (110 seater)
BAe 146-200 and ARJ-85 are the most used, BAe 146-100 and ARJ-70 are the less because they are expensive to operates with only 70/80 seats. With the high prices of fuel, it is almost impossible to make money with it (ARJ-70).

new RJX series began in 1992 !
This "new"series is offered in 3 variants RJX 70, RJX 85, RJX100. These aircraft feature further updated systems such as honeywell AS977 turbofans for 15% more range but also 20% less fuel consuption and maintenance costs...received orders for 180 and have delivered 162 I believe...
