Well they might acquire their own aircraft or let another thomas cook company fly for them (Condor, TCUK)

They have said a few times that TCB would never have any long haul aircraft. The onely aircraft type il the A320.

They said that it's not reliable to run onely one B-767 or A-330

But TUI do it. So who is right?

Is the Martinair going to replace the daily summer-flights FQ 763.

Cause I always like to see the Thomas Cook 767.

After the Tsunami, the interest for Thailand and Sri Lanka is very low. TC is already flying to Africa (Kenya) and to the Caribbean. I wonder which other destination is big enough for a Belgian touroperator to start a long haul charter operation ? Senegal, maybe ? Would be bad news for SNBA...

Another possibility is of course that they might join Thomas Cook Nederland in their long haul operations, ex Schiphol, with a bus transfer Zaventem-Schiphol. Would not really be a new Thomas Cook Belgium long haul activity though.

I doubt if Martinair would fly from Brussels, if they were the chosen ones. I do not see them make two empty positioning flights Brussels-Schiphol for 1 flight per week. Or would they take over all TC Belgium long haul flights ? Seems unlikely too, as this Dutch airline has no rights for some long haul flights out of Brussels. I refer to the current Thomas Cook flights with Euro Atlantic : Brussels-Lisbon-Varadero-Cancun-Brussels.

Martinair is still looking for an additional B767 to operate their TC long haul flights in the Netherlands next summer
To my opinion they don't have any capacity at this moment to operate those flights for TC belgium

So according to you Thomas Cook would operate the flights itself , like all the other years , with their own B767-300ER. Hope so...nice plane.

The B767 in TC-colours they flew in previous summers was always with German crew on it + 1 belgian one to help out. I hope that, this time, they choose to register a long haul plane in Belgium and fly it with a complete belgian crew, just as TUI does.

That would be a nice announcement!

Thomas Cook will anounce today that they signed a three year contract with Martinair, Operations start on May 1st.

Op dit moment kondigen Thomas Cook België en Martinair, tijdens een persconferentie te Brussel, een nieuwe strategische samenwerking aan voor 3 jaar. Martinair zal, vanaf 1 mei e.k., voor Thomas Cook en Pegase de vakantievluchten naar Cuba, Mexico, de Dominicaanse Republiek, Kenia en Zanzibar voor het eerst vanuit Brussel verzorgen.

Na het beëindigen van de samenwerking met BelgiumExel begin februari, was Thomas Cook België op zoek naar een betrouwbare en financieel sterke partner voor de uitvoering van het lange afstandsprogramma. Er moest zo snel mogelijk een goede, lange termijnoplossing komen om u en uw klanten weer de best mogelijke service en garanties te bieden. Met deze oplossing zal Thomas Cook Belgium daar ongetwijfeld in slagen! Voor de vluchten met vertrek vanuit Brussel wordt er uiteraard een 2-talige service voorzien.

Tot eind april blijven Thomas Cook en Pegase vliegen met de Portugese luchtvaartmaatschappij EuroAtlantic.

Voor zomer 2005 vliegt Martinair nog in een Star Class/Economy Class configuratie van 24/248 stoelen.

Vanaf winter 05-06 zal Martinair de vluchten uitvoeren met een Boeing 767-300 ER. Dan zal er gevlogen worden in de unieke configuratie van 12 Star Class stoelen, 91 Comfort Class stoelen en 164 Economy Class stoelen.

Martinair is sinds 1958 actief en vliegt jaarlijks bijna 2 miljoen klanten naar hun vakantiebestemming. Ook in België is Martinair geen onbekende, wel integendeel! Begin jaren '90 zette het toenmalige Sunsnacks samen met Martinair immers de democratisering in van de exotische vakanties!

De prettige, persoonlijke service van Martinair is wereldwijd genoegzaam bekend. Met prima maaltijden, recente speelfilms, een kinderentertainment programma en een bijzonder vriendelijke, goed opgeleide tweetalige bemanning streeft Martinair ernaar een uitstekend vakantieproduct aan te bieden. Martinair gaat de komende drie jaar de verre vakantievluchten uitvoeren voor Thomas Cook België. Dat maakten beide ondernemingen donderdag (10 maart) bekend tijdens een gezamenlijke persconferentie op de luchthaven Zaventem. Martinair gaat vanaf Brussel vliegen voor de touroperators Neckermann, Pegase en Thomas Cook naar Cuba, Mexico, de Dominicaanse Republiek, Kenia en Zanzibar.

Het driejarige contract geldt ook voor de Nederlandse markt. Vanaf Schiphol vliegt Martinair voor de touroperators Thomas Cook en Neckermann vanuit Schiphol naar Cuba, Mexico, de Dominicaanse Republiek en Kenia. Eerder werd al bekend dat Martinair de vluchten voor de rest van het komende zomerseizoen uit zou voeren.

Volgens het contract zal Martinair vanaf 1 mei de lange afstandsvluchten voor Thomas Cook België uitvoeren. Tot eind april blijven Thomas Cook, Pegase en Neckermann België vliegen met de Portugese luchtvaartmaatschappij EuroAtlantic. Martinair gebruikt op de vluchten vanaf Zaventem een Boeing 767-300ER, die overigens niet in België wordt gestationeerd. Martinair zegt op zoek te zijn naar vlootuitbreiding; mogelijk worden extra 767’s aan de vloot toegevoegd. Op de vluchten vanuit Brussel wordt een tweetalige bemanning gebruikt.

Exel
Het contract volgt op de beëindiging van de samenwerking van Thomas Cook met de ExelAviationGroup in februari. Voorheen werden de vluchten vanaf Brussel voor Thomas Cook België uitgevoerd door BelgiumExel en vanaf Schiphol voor Thomas Cook Nederland door HollandExel. Concurrent TUI besloot wel met HollandExel te blijven vliegen en stak om de vliegoperaties te waarborgen miljoenen in de onderneming. Thomas Cook zag dat niet zitten en besloot met Martinair verder te gaan

they are still looking for a/c
it means mp has to add at least two additional a/c to their b767 fleet, so they can operate additional flts for tc from holland and belgium
