"Air Exel is selling 4 planes"

Post by LX-LGX »

According to this story in the Dutch newspaper Het Parool, AirExel was (once again) in court last Wednesday: a Dutch social security fund wanted payment for outstanding social security taxes. Air Exel director Paul Janmaat convinced his creditors in court that AirExel will soon have funds: Janmaat said AE is about to sell 4 planes, which will result in a cash investment. Janmaat said the planes are not part of the fleet Air Exel uses to fly with, as they are leased to other airlines.

I'm only aware of one plane: PH-RXC = Embraer ERJ-145LR c/n 145106

Who can give me details on their 3 or 4 other planes ?

Hi,

They own 4 Fokker 50s of KLM cityhopper. They received the fokker 50s because of KLM who wanted that Air Exel dropped the name KLM exel. Because the contract between KLM and Air exel terminated 3 years earlier than normal, KLM gave 4 Fokker 50s to Air Exel as a compensation.
At present time, Air Exel is leasing those Fokker 50s to KLM Cityhopper. But now they will sell those planes to create a positive balance. They are speaking with several investors to see if Air Exel (possibly with other name) start operations again next month.

To be continued...

If I hear you well, KLM gave these Fokkers to Air Exel and must BUY them back? :?

You are right Andre, What is the world coming to these days

But i hope this is not just a hog wash or some internal appropriation. Airlines declare themselves bankrupt, but the real reason never surfaces.
Aum Sweet Aum.

Next Wednesday, they're all back in court again: a Dutch court will decide on Thomas Cook's demand for some 2,5 mio euro against Eric De Vlieger, his company IMCA and their financial partner Atradius.

I'm not able to translate the whole story, but it seems that Thomas Cook was allowed to brake the contract in case HollandExel went into surséance (more or less to be compared to a Belgian concordaat or the US Chapter 11).
