anr will mean payload restrictions due to short runway
@buzz
don't know if your familiar with ground ops, but 50 min for a 747 is not possible, unless you have (almost) no cleaning and catering. It alsmost takes an avaerage of 25min for deplaning/boarding and that is if no pax gets lost/drunk/sick/......
I must agree that 20min on a LCC is possible, but then nothing may go wong.
@loadcontroller
these rules used to be applicable in Bru a few years ago. As Bart said, exits to remain clear, AND no ground equipment (conveyor belt, tractors, bag carts, .....) parked in the path of the emergency slide. Sometimes a second stair is positioned, but that's mainly a company rule.

Thanks for the comments. I just find it suprising that easyJet does not serve Belgium. When you look at their route map, there is a hole in the center, Belgium. Its strange. Belgium is a rich country, people have money to spend. I don't get it; unless there is a gentlemen's agreement for no-competition. The EU would just love that!

Maastricht is about 25-30 kms away from Belgium.V-Bird wrote:almost belgium? dont think so! when you look it like that it is also almost germanySpottingEHBK wrote:Maastricht Aachen Airport is almost Belgium...10km till the border and only 100km to Brussels, Gerona is also 100km from Barcelona, so .....bkonner wrote:I just find it suprising that easyJet does not serve Belgium.
The travelling from Antwerp to Maastricht takes you 1 hr and 15 minutes with car.... Is that so bad?
Anyway i must say that a low cost Belgium-Berlin route would be welcome !
thats correct, only the city of Aachen and the city of Liege claims also to be the centre of the Euregio...concordino wrote:@ V-Bird
Surely with Schengan there are no longer border controls etc so you should look at Maastricht as the centre of a region which just happens to comprise 3 different countries. It is one big catchment area. Plus we are all Europeans now!

If Easyjet would make Maastricht a significant hub, I can see myself driving to Maastricht airport. And I have to come all the way from Brugge. But all in all, it seems like Belgium is a country too close to Amsterdam, Frankfurt or Paris. How often does it happen that an airline announces new routes out of AMS and CDG, and completely ignores BRU, or any other airport in Belgium? Very often! And I find that very annoying.
If there is a speak about Belgian airport , I also wonder why no LCC choose LGG (EBLG): Class 3 ILS, more than 3000m runway, to be extended, new terminal, free parking , very good highway access, in the middle of a 4Million people area (50km circle) good slot opportunity during daytime (cargos' are flying at night).

with all respect to your advanced age, and all respect to bexx who is trying to make a new start, bexx was and will re-begin as a travel agent selling seats on ACMI flights.
A more decisive step in the good direction would be the start of an already somewhere established LCC carrier.
What do you think about it?
