I haven't got my cristal ball on me  but I think IB is going for an all Airbus fleet. This means no B737NG and no B787 in IB livery.
Sabena_690 wrote:@Seb: wasn't IB going to replace some of the older A320's also?
I heard that too, probably they represent the 20 options of the order.
But all the IB A320 are -200 not -100 (unlike AF  ) and are not that so olds. According to airfleets.net, the older one has been delivered to IB on 18DEC90 (= 14 y. old) as EC-575 (msn 134, now as EC-GRE).

Regards

Seb.

It honestly would make more sense if Iberia selected the A320. Keeps with fleet commonality, and the time in transition between the A320 to other Airbus airplanes is short I hear. Would probably save the airline money.

how about a merge between a 737 and an A320?
Lol, had some fun with photoshop today,
here's the first A320 with a 737 nose (or is it a 737 with an A320 nose?)

I really hope Airbus won’t lose this order! This year have startead very good indeed if you compare with last year first 3 month. But the UPS cancellation for A300-600F and huge orders for de B787 have made the Airbus order book look just so dam awful! :?

If the rumours about IB dissatisfaction with the A340 fleet is true Boeing has got the a very good chance indeed.

Lets just hope that IB will go for Airbus once more!

By the way, this site claims that IB will wait to make an order: :?:

I'd be willing to bet that they'd order from Airbus. Being a part of the European Union, I'm sure Airbus would offer them huge discounts. Besides, it would keep with fleet commonality, makes sense right? What aircraft are they looking to replace??? I thought it was just their aging MD-80's, they're not happy with their A340's?? :?

To replace the super 80's, older airbus and 757 if im not mistaken.

I doubt they dont like the a340's or else why would they be buying more :?:

That's what I was confused about, were they referring to the older 2/300's??
