Goodevening,
Sorry to hear that WoodPecker,
We have to keep in mind that all forums (or is it "fora") are frequently visited by organisations or people who do not have any interest in the world spotters live in, but to get all the necessary information we give them and is used by them to build-up a strict security environment. In my humble opinion, the sandhill and the surrounding area's could be prohibited tommorrow.
Wait and see...

I'm afraid I have the same feelings as ILS25L about tomorrow. Luckily I passed by the sandhills today (so I have at least one shot of AF1, even if it's a very bad one), but I must admit security was well prepared, it seems. Some police cars were patrolling behind us, some BIAC-cars on the ringway.

I have school tomorrow (need to be there), but I wish all of you guys the best tomorrow. Surprise me, if possible, with nice pics!

I have deleted several messages related to spotters that went to prohibited areas to take pictures of Air Force One. I will not name these areas, but the trespassers will recognise them.

The administrators of Luchtzak.be do not condone such a behaviour and want to discourage it by all means. This attitude from a few will discredit all the spotters.

Spotters, please remain within the strict limits of legality. This will get you respect from the authorities and preserve your rights in the future.

Thank you to all of you for your co-operation.

Did AF 1 leave already this morning at 9? Did anybody make a nice picture of it? And from what runway did he finally take of? I'm curious to know!

The First Lady Laura Bush left already yesterday to go to Ramstein Air Force Base in Germany.

Does anyone know if it was by plane? If so, which one?

yes, it left just a bit before 9AM. First, a huge colone of cars drove over the tarmac. AF1 was the first to taxi to the HP of 07R. Then the 757 taxied , and lined up 07R at the crossing with 02 ( don't know if that's a C exit or sth else... ). 757 took off first. A few minutes later, AF1 took off.
And then... nothing BUT delays on the other flights !
Can airlines sue the US government for all these extra costs ? :-):-)

I hope they can, because this costs airlines a lot of money!! I think it is not fair that they have to pay for all of this. They didn't ask for it. They are just victims of this whole show.

I just took a look at the airport site. It is amazing. I can only see red of delayed and when I look at the ones who left already, most of them where delayed for more than one hour, even some two hours. Couldn't Bush have picked a different time to leave Brussels? He really took the moment when the traffic is at his peak.

I went to the sandhills this morning just like a lot of other guys :P
The number of cars who brought Bush safely to his plane was really unbelieveable !! Never seen something like this before. The police drove several times in front of us but never stopped to send us away ! Good job guys !!

But also how much business did it bring to Belgian hotels, restaurants, and all kind of services (including taxes)? On the balance it might have been very profitable for Belgium.

Most spotters might think otherwise...

Such a fuss (whoever is President) is always an opportunity to see rare birds.

Nobody yet has an answer to my question about the departure of Lady Bush to Ramstein AFB yesterday?
