New update about the info I have "access" to.

Until today 18/02 there has been no request for parking space on the military airport and normally all the support material will arrive at ABELAG, so: there is a big chance AF1 will arrive at ABELAG. He also thinks AF1 will stay at ABELAG and NOT replaced to a cargo parking

As said before, I also suggest to leave scanners at home, if the police finds your scanner it will cost you a lot of money. If I'm right, it will cost you about €150 and your scanner will be taken by the police.

Bush will 99.99% NOT land during daylight, reason to be found in my post in this topic: https://www.aviation24.be/postp75604.html#75604. This period starts 20h local time at Brussels sunday evening. So I guess he'll land about 20.30-21.30.

Arrival time off AF1

Post by scanjet »

Mr.Bush is definite to arrive at BRU after 19.30h. Source is the website off the Brussels police, www.polbru.be, where they are mentioning that all the roads where mr Bush is passing will be closed from 19.30h. It's sad butt maybe wednesday?

The Presidential Blackhawk helicopter was already brought in today by a C-17 Globemaster 95-0107. The C-17 was parked at Abelag and the unloaded helicopter was pulled into the hangar, accompanied by some 25 soldiers.
Why does he needs the helicopter? To fly to the Nato/EU/royal palace?

I saw the Blackhawk flying!...

Post by Oli2bo »

Hello Folks ! I'm beginner in spotting, en I've found Luchtzak.be while I was searching informations on AF1's ETA. So I've read all your topics about that, and I've received a lot of informations. It's my turn to give information (not very important one...) : I saw the Blackhawk flying yesterday above my office ! Very impressing ! I first heard a huge sound, not a Md Explorer one, and when I turned my head, I saw this huge VH 60, who seems extremely heavy! He has taken off from the European area here in Bxl (approximately), and I supposed he returned at EBBR...

So, I suppose we will see us at Steenookerzeel sunday evening, have a good w-e until there!...

Hello

BRU-CPH : He always does that. The 'chopper' goes where ever the president is, along with him. So those C-5's , C-17's , armoured limousines, and the 'chopper' are almost always on the move.

Every time 'Airforce One' is going to an airport , the whole scene repeats.

So it's kind a busy job coördinating that.

And ...
Airbus_fan
The reason why i'm in such a panic is , that i certainly now , i know that i can't see him , because it will indeed 99,99% certain, dark when AF1 arrives.

And another reason was , that i expected that a little bit , so i was setting my hope on seeing an C-5 at BRU.
Since the C-17 arrived with the presidential blackhawk already , i was really afraid that all the material flights had already arrived .
But now i hear that i still have a chance to see one at Saturday.
Altough it is a little bit bad news that i probably want come anymore at Saturday. Because i expected that i wouldn't see neither AF1 or the C-5 , i have made another weekend planning. But there might be a very little chance that i can still spot at Saturday , even when it's snowy weather....

Another comment on what i wrote was:
why do you think AF1 is going to land at RWY25R , when all the other planes are landing at RWY02???
Well...first of all , that was a possibility that i calculated in my so called 'Emergency situations plan/Chaos plan' wich concerns all possible failures and bad luck you can have , for the most problems i have a solution , and that whas one of them...so it was just my question what do you guys think of it??? Well , at least i've got my answer now...it's too dangerous ...so that was what i expected. One worry less.

But as i said before...altough all the hard working...making plans...finding solutions for all possible problems, and very very much preparation and planning. I'm afraid i have to CANCEL both trips of Saturday and Sunday.

So i want you guys to tell...HAVE FUN SPOTTING HIM and hopefully someone will have a good picture of it...i've been waiting for it for 6 years....but it failed...bye bye Airforce One.

So i guess what i'm going to do now is saving the money for 2 other days that there will come another special like the Qatar airways, Eastern airlines 346, etc....just waiting patiently for another VERY RARE visitor , and who knows...maybe ever an C-5 in daylight on a day that i'm free.

Best regards: Yannick

Seems like I'll only go to the airport to catch the UA 777 then.

I'll try to get to Abelag monday and/or tuesday afternoon.

Brubiac,
Sorry to hear that because you were one of our main sources but no problem, I can understand if they ordered you to keep it secret.

First of all chill out a little bit man. Since two or three days you are constantly in panic for the arrival of AF1. You won't die if you don't see the plane. It'll be dark when AF1 arrives that is a fact and we will all have to live with that. :!:
But now i hear that i still have a chance to see one at Saturday.
Altough it is a little bit bad news that i probably want come anymore at Saturday. Because i expected that i wouldn't see neither AF1 or the C-5 , i have made another weekend planning.
Well, the arrival of all those planes seem to be the most important event of your life, so why can't you cancel the "new plannings" you've made?

Well...first of all , that was a possibility that i calculated in my so called 'Emergency situations plan/Chaos plan' wich concerns all possible failures and bad luck you can have , for the most problems i have a solution , and that whas one of them...so it was just my question what do you guys think of it??? Don't worry about the runways. Even if AF1 is a very special plane it has to face the same physical laws as any other plane.

So i want you guys to tell...HAVE FUN SPOTTING HIM and hopefully someone will have a good picture of it...i've been waiting for it for 6 years....but it failed...bye bye Airforce One.
Come on don't be too pessimistic. You are still very young and i'm sure you'll have other occasions to see AF1 in your life. I also missed AF1 when it came 4 years ago in BRU (I was at school) but that's life. You can't have everything.

Hello

Avro...well you definitely are right about that.

You know...the last time I could go spot him (at daylight) and I didn't took a day of school , wile I was aloud to do that by my parents , but I didn't , stupid...isn't it??? Since that i'm feeling sorry for it all the time...until I heard that it would return...you know...that kind a stuff...so that's why I REALLY want to see it.

Secondly....you know I did a really lot of preparation , that's why I would find it double as worse to miss it...but i've taken peace with the fact that I probably want see it.

And the C-5..well...that's another story. As any spotter i'm really willing to hunt the largest beast on this planet ...the AN-225. But for those kind of things...your really have to go abroad...sometimes even real far....and i'm not able to do that now...and it want be the first 5 years i think...so and maybe it want be there anymore by than...so I thought...why not the second largest plane in the world at BRU??? The C-5...so...but you know...when the other material arrives tomorrow we will all see it just was a C-17. I'm pretty sure of it now, so...no worry.

By the way. It might be that I go and have a quick spotting between 7 and 9 h PM Sunday , so I maybe see him even in the dark....and hopefully under the light of the airport , so I can see a little color in it. :D

So cheers for this weekend, and ...who knows; Yannick

Which airplane has brought the presidential Cadillac? Because I've seen it earlier today at the Mongtomery roundabout in Brussels, escorted by 3 or 4 Chevy Suburbans and an intervention truck (SWAT alike).

Hi WoodPecker,

The Cadillacs were brought in by C-17 02-1102.

I was thinking to post something about Mr. Bush, but I'm not going to do it (I know I would had a lot of reaction) ... But I'm very frustrated ...

How well ...see you tomorrow :!:

Yannick :

This will not be the last time AF1 or Bush is comming to Brussels, you still have (at least I hope) some 60 years to live, you will have other chances to spot him

Hello

Since tomorrow the UA 772 will arrive I was questioning myself whetter this has to do something with it.
20/02 04:35 Washington UA 950
20/02 04:35 SanFrancisco UA 950
via Washington

This flight is mentioned twice on the www.biac.be website. With the same flightnumber and the same type. Is it the same aircraft or are it two different. My guess is they just cancelled the flight from washington and made it the SFO-BRU flight via Washington as usually??? So would it be the daily UA 763 to SFO or another, because it this is another and my information i've got is correct than there would be 2 UA 763's AND a UA 772 with the US-press.

Who can tell me what's going on, because this is A VERY EARLY arrival for the normal UA flight.....04:35  that's a little earlier than normally 07:05/07:15 ....

Has this anything to do with GW Bush's visit ? Extra UA flight?

Best regards: Yannick ;)

Don't worry Yannick AF1 won't dissapear in the next few years and the B747's won't be replaced very soon either.

BTW it's WON'T and not WANT :!

Hello Yannick,

UA 950 is the daily flight operated by a 763. The 772 with the press is an extra flight (and not a passenger flight), so she will probably not appear on the BIAC Arrival page.

Regards, Robin Bamps.
