It could be that he will be arriving more in the evening ...
When Condi arrived here at BRU a couple days ago it was already quite dark too ... but security wasn't really very tight then ... I was still able to drive past at the abelag buildings ... there were some police trucks but nothing really special ... her plane was parked at Abelag so in the following days you could, with a small ladder, take a shot of it. This will prolly not be the case for Mr. Bush' plane.
I really hope that, just as the rest of you guys, I will be able to take some pic ... even a C5 would be cool but AF1 is something more unique indeed !!

AF1 arr/dep

Post by gunslinger »

Hi guys.

For as far as I know, Mr.Bush arrives in the evening of the 21st, but no one knows an exact time, more or less for security reasons I assume.

Mr.Bush will depart to Frankfurt at the 23rd, there was a tv program on german television (WDR) at the 9th, last week. Security would like to see that Frankfurt will be only open for airforce one that day, and all the other traffic would divert elsewhere :? . All public buildings, offices, schools etc. will be closed, everything within a circle of a few square km around the field will be restricted area. But, that's only what was showed on tv, you'll never know what really will happen untill the day of arrival. Truth mostly turns out the otherway. Let's only hope the weather will cooperate.
Good luck.

Thanks Brubiac for the information!
Is this already confirmed?
Will this be a United-plane in new colors?

Thanks Brubiac. No need to go to LHR or FRA to catch a UA 777 that day ;-)

Robin: AFAIK only 2 UA 777's have already been painted in the new livery: N775UA and N777UA.

But, with a bit of luck you'll see UA's 767 in the new livery (yup, the first one is already painted).

Thanks for that excellent news Brubiac !

I managed to miss 9 UA 777's at FRA last summer
(they all came in on the wrong runway => 07L).

No problem,

I hope it will be one in the new colors but it's hard to tell at this moment because I don't know yet the registration.

Hello

Thanks very much , and i'm very pleased to hear some kind of expectation, wich whe still don't have that much yet.

We still don't know when a C-5 will arrive, whetter it will already dark if AF1 arrives , (my guess is not because i've never seen the President seen stepping out his Airforce One at Dark when they arrive at an airport and it's on TV , so....)and a new problem is the wheater, look at it ...horrible...i hope it changes soon.

Best regards: Yannick ;)

I have another BIG IMPORTANT QUESTION!!!

There has been said there was a NATO and a EU meeting at the same time. What does that mean??? At the same day??

Wich day is the EU meeting planned??? That's my big question.

And what kind of visitors may we expect for the NATO meeting????

Please some concrete info about the EU meeting if possible (date).

Thanks in advance and best regards:Yannick ;)

The NATO & EU meeting can, imho, only be held the 21th and the 22th ...
Most foreign visitors will probably park at Abelag ...

Indeed, after arrival the aircraft will probably towed to the cargoapron.

Seems to me that AF1 will land in the sunlight. They can't follow everyone around an airport and surely not at night.

Probably al the foreign visitors will park at Abelag, exept the Italian aircraft, and the previous time the big aircraft as the French A310 parked also over there.

In other words, Get the beast at the right Rwy :) Jump in the car which is already in the right direction and race over to Abelag before they tow it to the Cargo :)

I presume, landing would be on 25L because most of the time the the 25R is occupied with the "morningrush take offs" and Press isn't that VIP :)
