Looking for Spotters forum moderators

Post by luchtzak »

Dear spotters,

the ever growing popularity of www.luchtzak.be made me decide to create a new function on this website: Spotters forum moderators

What are 'spotters forum moderators'?

- they check that forum-rules are respected, that the topic-titles are according to the rules, in general: that the planespotting-forums are well-organised (eventually up to the spotters forum mods to decide what or how, will open a special forum for them to discuss things in private)

What are we looking for?

- 2 or 3 motivated people (depending on interest), who remain always calm even in the most difficult circumstances,
- no newbies please, looking for 'well-established'-members.

What do you get when you are a spotters forum mod?

- no money, that's for sure ;-) but you get:
- a special forum where you can discuss items in private,
- the possibility to 'edit'-'delete'-'move'-'split' topics/messages but only in the planespotting-forums.

Interested? Then send a PM to me!

greetings,

Bart

Altogether, the forums receive some 200 messages per day. I used to read them all, but I cannot cope anymore, as I have a professional activity besides that. Therefore the call for candidates for some parts of the forums.

A forum moderator must of course keep order in the forum: that's the visible part of the job. Generally easy, although good common sense is sometimes required to resolve conflictual situations.

But he also receives a lot of Private Messages, which are often very rewarding, but sometimes not very nice. He will have to cope with that with a lot of diplomacy and without abusing of his powers.

Good luck! Any other candidates?

JetB, believe me, I could do this job  I'm not the Moderator/Owner of two forums for nothing (one was given to me after the original owner gave up!)

And the person doing this job would need an excellent command and understanding of English, which of course is something I possess.

I think it is only fair that my application is given proper consideration.

And yes, I am perfectly capable of remaining calm.

No worries Comet, we give everybody a fair chance. The administrators are discussing right now who would fit the job. Anyway the 2-3 I mentioned will be 4-5, seems there is quite some interest and it's better to start with a nice number of moderators.

To avoid confusion I will close this topic and move it to the 'website related'-forum.
