Yes I read about that too, blachhawk.
BA's CEO claiming he will have to concentrate on Gatwick as a competitor of easyJet.
First we have to give to Ceasar... He got BA shorthaul operations out of the red. Now he wants to compete.
Notice he competes already in the Gulf, offering miles equalling the flights into AUH, actually he is saying 'pay one get two'.
If he stays in that aggressive mood, we can expect the heat under the shorthaul fares out of Gatwick. I'm already preparing my spectacles because that will be the arena....

Nononono, there was a recent article published in a journal that acutally said that Song (due to the HUGE fare cuts) was actually effecting JetBlue passengers. Song and JetBlue operate on basically the same routes (unlike Southwest). Actually, AA, Delta, NW, and UA aren't even directly competing with Southwest or Jetblue (they have different bases/route/network). Ted is primarily for flights to the west so they are trying to compete with Frontier Airlines. I doubt that JetBlue could swipe out Song (or Delta for that matter). American Airlines is able to have lower passenger-seat-mile costs than Southwest can (737 vs. MD-80). Delta and Song could do the same with the proper routes and management with JetBlue.
