Is Dutchbird really Bankrupt?

Post by KLMCityhopper »

After much speculation of who was the real owner of Dutchbird, the Dutch news just notified the Dutch people that charter airline Dutchbird has gone bankrupt. The news was a shock, since nothing was heard from the airline for a while, after the owner incident with De Vlieger. Dutchbird was always known as one of the leading charter airlines in Europe, winning the Charter Airline Award of the Year 2001 2002 and 2003in the Netherlands. In the Netherlands, the airline enjoyed an extremely high reputation. The airline’s image was drasticly damaged when the Exel Aviation Group made a insulting low bid for the airline. After hearing many rhumors that the airline refused the bid, and that the Exel Aviation Group refused to buy the airline, De Vlieger claimed that he had nothing to with the airline, since his partner had bought the airline for the group, but he is being trialed in court with the Air Holland case. After much optimism that De Vlieger was planning to increase that airlines fleet, merging it with his Holland Exel brand. This was probably all an elusion, since De Vlieger stubbornly refuses to take repsonsibility for the airline. After much speculation, the airline as suddenly declared bankrupt. This might have to do with damages image after Exel boldly bidded, and next refuses responsibility. MAny say that the airline does not exist anymore, yet on its website, there is no message that the airline has stopped. What is going on?

Well, if no one else made a bid, it means that the value of the airline had dropped dramatically. Therefore, I believe that the bankruptcy is real.

Furthermore, some DutchBird B757-230 aeroplanes have been re-registered on 12.01.2005:

PH-DBA, PH-DBB and PH-DBH became respectively N723BA, N246BA and N298BA under the name of Boeing Aircraft Holding Co.
