As reported here Ryanair will axe one of its two daily flights from Brussels South (Charleroi) to Milan (Bergamo).
The morning service is indeed cancelled from 15/02/2005 whereas the late evening flight is still operated.
This will not affect the Charleroi-based Boeing 737-800 operations since both services are operated by Bergamo-based planes.
However I think we can question the viability / attractivity of the route ex Belgium: a late night arrival will probably be less appreciated than an early morning one.
If the only flight from Charleroi to Bergamo leaves in the evening, that's bad news. It's only good for the Italians wanting to get back to Bergamo. This could mean a downward trend in the number of Belgian passengers using Ryanair to get to Bergamo/Milan.

Could this mean they will axe Bergamo altogether in the near future? Is there any other airport in the vicinity (less than 100 km) of Milan that Ryanair could use instead?
There is an airport close to Brescia, but it is quite far from Milan (too far)...
I think that they are making huge amounts of money by flying out of Bergamo. May be they are just trying to scare Bergamo airport.
One has to remember that Bergamo has a lot of charter traffic and also other low cost airlines fly there. So may be Bergamo airport is not so desperate to have them and is not offering them the conditions they want (landing for free, getting subsides to fly there)?
Myair has recently started operations from Bergamo. May be Bergamo airport is happier with Myair (which probably is willing to pay a bit more than Ryanair)?
