Hello,

I was very surprised to see an A-340 at Ostend. I think this is first A-340 at Ostend? I found no pictures at airliners.net.
I'm also glad to see Ethiopian at Ostend. When I heard it was going to leave Ostend, that was very sad news, but probably it is still coming to Ostend. I looked at biac.be and ETH is flying only 3 times a week at Brussels or am I wrong?

not really a long time ago we did get from time to time some touch and go's from Sabena with their A340
and in 2000 with the french ATC Strike we did get an A340 from Corsair or was it an A330 i don't remember but definitely the nicest visitor of the year so far

We used to see Virgin Atlantic on training flights at Ostend during the 80's, then using 747-200's. I have them on slide, so no pictures on the net of it. Nowadays Virgin normally goes to Prestwick or to Chateauroux for their training flights. The reason why they came to OST today is not clear.
It's certainly not the first A340 at OST. We had several of Sabena in time, also on training and some on diversion. We even had an Air Mauritius at OST on diversion, unfortunately during the night. The Corsair flights were A330's and 747's.

Nik

You must have thought you went crazy when you first saw the A340 at OST.

Awesome pictures Andries, and it seems that the weather at EBOS was better than in BRU...

Virgin Atlantic surely has one of the nicest liveries around, I really like it very much ! Hope to see one in real once (but probably I have to go to the UK to let that dream come true...).

Regards, Robin Bamps.
