Will KLM order the 7E7?
In the last few years, KLM has revised its fleet, selling all the older aircraft, and renewing these with newer aircraft. The 747-300 was replaced with 777's, and the 767 will be replaced by the A330. If any of you have noticed, the A330 order was only 6, while there are 12 767 aircraft. This ofcource could be doubled for fleet commonality. The 777 alreaddy includes 10 aircraft, and 2 were ordered extra. The MD-11 would also be replaced, yet the new aicraft was never annouced. Would this be replaced by the A330 too? Wouldn't the Airbus order be much bigger than 6 them? More like 24?
I could also think that the 777 is replacing the MD-11 becuase they have similar range and capacities. I think that KLM would eventually order the 7E7 to replace it's 767's. KLM is a pretty good Boeing customer and the 767's will need replacing soon.

As KlMcityhopper said in the first post, the 767's are being replaced by A332's...Knight255 wrote:I could also think that the 777 is replacing the MD-11 becuase they have similar range and capacities. I would like to know why the Airbus A350, wasnt mentioned in the poll?
KLMs future fleet replacement will most likely be influenced by Air France and NWA decisions. In this time and age loyalty to an Airline manufacturer rarely exists as we have seen in the past. What it does come down to is Price, Performance, and Assistance and many times even goverment pressure.

I don't think NWA has any influence on KLM. NWA is simply just a partner of KLM, while Air France the mother is of her. I personally don't know by which aircraft KLM will replace her MD-11s, but I've heard somewhere on the other forums KLM is looking for the B7E7BP wrote:...KLMs future fleet replacement will most likely be influenced by Air France and NWA decisions...
I beleive that the 7E7 would work well in the KLM fleet, although i beleive that it doesnt offer enough capacity to be a direct substitute the MD 11. In a typical three class, the 7E7-900 would seat 257. As for the A350-900 this would be able to seat 285 in a three class arrangemants and also provide the same range as the B7E7. Considering KLM close ties with Air France and NWA i would not be suprised to see a joint order by the three so as to get a better deal.
