SN Airbus damaged !
Hey friends,
I wasn't on line yesterday so I hope this isn't old news !.
But yesterday (Saterday 08/01 ) an SN Brussels Airlines Airbus ready for its flight to the African Continent was damaged and towed to Sabena Technics.
Handling company BGS hit the AC with there equipment, damaging the aircraft. Result was a gap in the fuselage ( about 15 cm ).
Word is that BGS was using broken Aviapartner equipment and could not stop on time.
Who knows more, maybe somebody can make a few pictures ?.

It seems that the damage was repaired quickly. In BIAC's today's arrivals, all three A330s are arriving, one of which with some 6 hours delay:
9/01 06:40 Kigali via Nairobi SN 463/AA 7808 Delayed 12:19 A330
In BIAC's departures, one of the three A330 flights is slightly delayed and its flight number changed (change of itinerary?):
09/01 11:35 Dakar via Banjul SN 1203 Delayed 14:30 A330

The aircraft yesterday, OO-SFN, was hit with a container near the rear cargo door. They towed the aircaft to the hangar and it departed later with some delay.
BGS/Avia is normally not allowed to use equipment of Avia/BGS.

SNBA does it all the time when 1 of the Africaflights is a lot delayed. But I don't know what the exact reason is for that.

But not for repairing a fuselage.3M tape is a great product
It is "good" that the aircrafts are still made of aluminium. A small damage can be detected by viewing. If you use composites the damage can be in one of the lower layers of the sheet. So no visual control, if there are some cowboys that are loading the aircraft and hit it but don't report it you could have not so a nice problem. The aircraft can be decompressed in midair by the hole, the sheet loses its strength there.
If the time to repair was 6 hours they did a quick repair, so they putted a sheet of metal on top of the gap. So for the spotters you can probably see the place where the gap was.

Well the SN330 and the FQ320 had a little accident.
It was in March or May or something like that , in 2004.
A Thomas Cook A320 was taxiing to/from the gate, wile a SN330
was standing next to him. Wile taxiing away he hit the SN's engine with
he's stabilo(?) (tail wing). So both aircraft were temporarily out of service.
It was in that period that the 'Beluga' came into BRU for the TC's stabilo(?). And the SN was replaced by an 310 and maybe even other planes.
So that was in short lines what happened. I can't confirm anything,don't
remember that good. Could be that more parts of both aircrafts were damaged, but the two mentioned parts were surely damaged.
I guess the FQ320 was OO-TCI and the SN330 the OO-SFN (no confirmation)?

The beluga also came for the stabilo of a Thomas Cook A320 when it had an accident with the southern peer of the airport. Aviapartner had towed the aircraft to the satelite but forgot to set the chocks...the A320 rolled backwards with its tail in a bridge of the old peer...

But once again; .......that's what i heard about it , and i saw pictures...but i wasn't that good informed those days.(I didn't knowed the thing called 'Luchtzak forums' yet.). I did saw the Beluga flying over Mechelen when i was on a school trip. But it could be that there were 2 FQ320 accidentsbecause the Beluga was in for a second time at BRU. So...

Maybe I forgot, but I don't remember an incident between a TCW A320 and an SN A333 a few months ago.
The Beluga came to fly the broken stabilo over to TLS (18/05/04). The second time she came, they brought it back.
It was indeed OO-TCC that hit the noseloader at finger South.

Afterworhts it looks like it really didn't happened. Because, if a that large
amount of people all say it isn't. Alto i did found the picture that caused
my confusion. If you have a look at it you can clearly see that the FQ320,
as well as the SN333 are damaged (SN at the engine),they're standing in front of each other , so that it really looks like an accident between two planes. It was then that some guys (don't ask me who...i don't remember anymore) told me that the FQ crashed against the SN333.
Have a look at the picture; BE HONEST! DOESN'T IT LOOKS LIKE THEY HAD AN ACCIDENT??????
