Virgin action - Tsunami relief

Post by janhuub »

Following message received from Virgin:

Dear,

For many the year has started badly, therefore the staff of Virgin Express
has put their shoulders under a project to support the victims of the
Tsunami in Azie. Today we will have several of our aircraft stickerd with
the account number of National Support organisations so that we can create
maximum awareness for this action and hopefully get people throughout
Europe to donate towards the victims.

Besides this we operate a number of 30 minute flights over Belgium coming
Saturday the 8th of January. We will be selling tickets for these flights
for €49 (including taxes). All the profit of these flights will go to
000-0000012-12. With the support of some of our suppliers we hope to be
able to generate about €3500 to 5000 per flight for the victims of the
Tsunami. So the more tickets we sell, the more flights we operate, the more
money we can generate to support the Victims.

The 1st flight is scheduled to leave from Brussels at 08.30 and is
currently for sale through our call centre. You can reach our call centre
on the following numbers:

Country Phone
Belgium 070 35 36 37

Our distribution department is also trying to get the flights bookable
through the internet by the end of today. Every passenger will receive a
special certificate stating that he / she has flown on this special flight
(TV1212).

We hope to see many of you on Saturday !
Best regards,

I wonder how much the profit will be if you sell the tickets for only € 49.00...

I quote Janhuub's text: about €3500 to 5000 per flight.

Is there only one flight or several? The mail above indicate several flights, but their website only mentions the 8h30 flight...

Well, I already called for 2 seats. I will fly together with my grandmother who will fly for the first time in her life! For me it's the first flight this year. Only the flight of 8.30am is confirmed. I think Virgin waits to schedule extra flights to see first how well ticketing is going.

I'm interested of course, but I'd like to have a bit more daylight :D

Weather seems rather cloudy (and rainy) for that day, so I'm afraid it won't be a very bright day. But the sky is always clear above the clouds :D
