Anyone notice. Statement by the CEO:
"Boeing is and will remain our supplier over the long term," Hidalgo said.
That's why you signed an LOI for 10 A350 last week.

Yes it was reported in our PIDs today:
 Air Europa has placed an order for 3 additional Boeing 737-800s. Air Europa already has 2 B737s on order for delivery in 2005.

I think the airline already operates around 25 of B737s.

More updates that came were:

Air Europa has received clearance from the Spanish Civil Aviation to start service to China.

Air Europa plans to start service in the Spring with 4 flights a week from Madrid to Beijing.

Air Europa will be using a Boeing 767 and an Airbus A340 which it plans to lease from Airbus.
Aum Sweet Aum.

What is surprising that this also made way into our PID:
Air Plus Comet has received clearance from the Spanish Civil Aviation to start service to China. The airline plans to start service in the Spring with 3 flights a week from Madrid to Beijing & Shanghai using a Boeing 747.

Is this competetion to Air Europa ?
Aum Sweet Aum.

Yeah Advisor I am surprised indeed! - Nothing said from airbus, it'd be interesting to hear what they have to say about it so soon after the a350 order made the headlines.

An MOU is entirely different than a firm order?

I guess this is what is called double talk brothers.

In India we call it, Haati ke daanth khane ke aur, dikhane ke aur. (Hindi)

Translation: This talk is just like the elephants teeth. What we see is the tusk. With what it eats cannot be seen.

Nice indian proverb :)

I'm not surprised to see that many airlines are planning to start ops to China. China is the booming country and the demand for flights (leisure and business) will continue to arise in the coming years.

I think China will be the next big thing in aviation followed by the Middle-East.

I just hope they don't forget about Africa - apart from South Africa and maybe Egypt and Nigeria I don't see any hope there.

What is surprising is that in such a controlled state where is the money coming from!

China reveals nothing in its press tabloids nor does it release official statements.

I wonder, WHY?
