THE ESTABLISHMENT OF A NEW Croatia AIRLINE COMPANY "DUBROVNIK AIRLINES" - Atlanska plovidba, a Dubrovnik shipping company, and Zracna luka Dubrovnik established an airline company DUBROVNIK AIRLINES, which will handle charter air transport. As a start, the newly founded company will have two aircraft, each with 164 seats. In its five-year plan, the company intends to purchase seven more aircraft and to employ about seventy new employees. The start of business is expected in a few months – before the start of the tourist season in 2005.

My sources tell me that they will start regular services to Belgrade from the Croatian coast, around summer 2005.

Initially they will be Primary charters, as feeders for Atlantska Plovidba hotels.

INSIDE INFORMATION

Dubrovnik Airline is initiated by some former Air Adraitic staff, who were unsatisfied with the situation in their company. I also hear that a letter that was sent to all Air Adriatic's partners, capt. Zeno Senger (general manager of Dubrovnik Airline) had mentioned the bad financial situation in Air Adriatic, and that is very likely that Air Adriatic will stop flying before the next summer season.

The two MD-82 airplanes, which it plans to buy are from Alitalia. For USD$3.0 million each!

Yes it seems Alitalia are finally going to remove that huge md80 fleet they have in place. Was it not the biggest operator of md80's outside the USA?

2 others have gone to Albanian airlines if im not mistaken.

8) Forza!

No Sicilian Falcon, you are not.

Indeed the other two have gone to Albanian Airlines. But records at Albanian show only 1.

That livery looks very promising indeed!

I'd like to see that in real life from up close.

I guess this is one of the primary reasons for the birth of this airline.

I go to Dubrovnik every year and it's indeed the most beautiful place of whole Croatia, it's very nice. We have many friends overthere and I even know a former Air Adriatic pilot who told me last time that Air Adriatic wasn't doing very well. So I hope Dubrovnik Airlines will be succesfull and I'm looking forward to spot that plane in DBV.

Bye
Happy newyear

I am the author of the picture on attached on this page. I made this picture according to the description in newspapers. :shiny:

Correctly the name of this company will be Dubrovnik Airline (without "s" at the end). Airline is esablished by two share holders:
"Atlantska plovidba" the biggest shipping company in Croatia
and Dubrovnik Airport.

Dubrovnik Airline has already some problems with establishing. Croatian Aviation authorities don't want to give AOC to the company if Dubrovnik Airport will be the shareholder.

Competitor Air Adriatic took up two MD-82s from Alitalia yesterday and is adding another one in February. Airline will have 6 MD-80s at the begining of summer season in its fleet. :!:

A MD83 9A-CBE (ex-Swiss) is wet-leased to Soder Aviation now for domestic flights in Finland.
