computer question

Post by 744rules »

My 16month old son is fond of the computer and applies his very own style for typing. To picture the style : put your hands over your head and use your ten fingers at the time for typing. I call it the "stevie wonder" way.

now the question : is there a way to lock/unlock the keyboard, knowing my computer still runs on Windows98.

Thanks in advance. My computer will love you for it.

You can password protect certain things on your PC, I am just not too sure about how you go locking the keyboard!

You might have to go to the "Windows" website to find out how you lock/unlock.

In every computer approach, keep it always stupidly simple !

I think the easiest way to bypass your problem is to set a screensaver with password protection. In this way, even if Stevie hits the piano, it will have no effect.

And I hope at 16 months he still can't hack a password !!!

Best wishes to everyone...

I also suggest what Aureus suggests.

Set a screen saver with the password protection option so unless ur 16 month old can crack it, ull have music to your ears.

PS A WORD OF CAUTION:
Mine 13 month old started removing the key board keys in frustration when he realised that i had done such and act to stop him from going beoyond. So be careful.
Aum Sweet Aum.

aureus,

you're a hero. It works. I'm looking forward to see his face when he finds out I sabotaged his toy.

Or if your PC is on a table with a drawer, put your keyboard and mouse in there and lock it.

Another good piece of advice is, do not leave the kid unattended, next thing it will do is put one of the plugs in his mouth..... then you will have print error!!!

A plastic cover over your keyboard also works ;)
