Can somebody tell the Airbus people they might be too enthusiastic? I see on the last picture already a fueltruck waiting to deliver some gallons.
Shivers must run down the spines at Seattle.
It ran over budget?
Well, so will be it. But it will fly, and it will be here for the next 30-40 years. America, here we come!

Those are great pictures. And there is only one word to discribe it: "wow".

And I finally start to like the shape of the plane. I can't wait to see it in full white colours with all 4 engines under the wings :)

It looks like the A380 is doing well and on track for it maiden flight in the first quater of 2005. Anyone notice the strange door at the rear of the fusalage any ideas on whats the purpose of this? :?: :?: :?:

What strange door are you talking about  I've been searching through each picture and didn't find any strange door. Could you tell us in which picture we should search ?

Sorry about that. I could have been more precise to what i was refering to. The door in which am refering to is the sliding door looking object at the rear end of the aircraft, under the tail.

BP,

Now I see what you mention. It's indeed a strange thing. I don't think that this device is a door. It rather looks like a grid which is sticking on the fuselage. Why? I don't know. But in my opinion it has to do with the construction of the aircraft and will be removed before the first flight.

Just my 2 cents...

I just read in Flight International that for the first few flights, druing STALL tests that the crew will wear parachutes and if needed they can use an escape chute leading to a removable door in the cargo holds to escape - MAYBE THIS IS THE DOOR

I think that may be a Tail Strike absorber pad or grid!

Hello

It is indeed a beast, aldo the length is quite the same as that from the
A340-600/B777-300 (around 73-75(later)m long)

But it is VERY NICE.

I heard he would visit BRU too!

If anybody knows something new about that (if it's true).
I one and all ear!!!!!!!

Best regards: Yannick
