Bart,

This looks much better with the logo and users toolbar next to eachother.

Thanks again for the work you do to keep the site up to date.

Best Regards,
Yvo

Nice design, but maybe an A319 would have added more to the look. The other types operated by SNBA are represented but the A319 has been left out.

Comet,

airborne made a correct judgement by not overloading the logo with aircrafts, note that he didn't want to make a SNBA-aircraft banner but one with a A330 and a RJ. Hence the EBBR-tower and the landing-lights, makes the picture just perfect!

So "Airborne" didn't want to make a SN Brussels Airlines banner? Well, it seems he did anyway. "Airborne" just wanted to make a banner with illustrations of A330 and ARJ aircraft? What a coincidence that SN Brussels Airlines has those two aircraft types in its fleet?! It seems that the tower and lights displayed in the banner are not those of EBBR, but rather of SNBR ... SN Brussels Airport.

@ "Airborne": The design of the banner itself is well done, but the illustrations are seen through SN Brussels Airlines glasses. Are you aware of the fact that there are more (Belgian) carriers who operate in and out of Brussels?

First of all, I'm happy that you listen to all our comments yesterday evening in the chatbox Bart.

The look is now very good. :)

I don't think that the purpose of a banner for www.Luchtzak.be is to promote SNBA. It just has to be nice that's all. Now since the colours of this site (with all the forums etc..) is tending to the blue grey and white tones it'll be more discreet to see an SN tail far in the back than to see a RED TV plane or a TUI blue B737.

BTW where on the picture can you see that the ARJ is from SNBA please ? It could also be one of Malmö, Lufthansa or any other airline operating them into BRU.

As I said the main prupose of the banner is to have a nice composition, which is the case here, so I don't see why we should change it just to introduce a picture of a VEX, FQ or TUB plane ????

I'm sorry, but I don't like it very much... I like the banner, only I would have used another type of letters.
What I don't like is the right side. It looks a lot less professional then before... The banner says Luchtzak.be, and than the right side says Luchtzak aviation again, and in normal letters.
I would put the banner in the middle, increase the name-part (& change the type) and combine the essential part of the 2 grey bars into one bar below the banner.... Would look much more professional !

Good work Bart & airborne, keep on improving this site!

I think it is largely psychological how you interpret the image. The A330 is obviously SNBA, and when you see an ARJ on the banner as well, you automatically think just of SNBA, even if the ARJ is someone else's. The fact that the banner shows two of SNBA's three fleet types, you assume it is intended for you to immediately think of the Belgian airline than any other.

I think "themole" has a point. It's not because Bart works at SN BA whole Luchtzak must be SN BA. And yes I like the new banner ... but still...

I think we must be proud at all the Belgian airlines, so it would be nice to al least try another banner :!:

Avro, you disappoint me. I never said that a Belgian airline should have been displayed. I clearly put the word "Belgian" between brackets. Speaking of which, is SN Brussels Airlines the only "Belgian" airline with blue in its livery? You already mentioned TUI Airlines Belgium, but what about Thomas Cook Airlines Belgium or VLM?

There are so many airlines that could have fitted the banner. You want blue, white and grey? Is Continental Airlines good enough for you? A B767-400ER is rather rare in Europe, so it would have been a bit exclusive too.

But if you want 100% exclusivity, then I think a Hewa Bora Airways Lockheed L-1011 Tristar is a must due to the fact that its a rare aircraft these days, and besides Africa, it can only be spotted in Brussels. It even has a blue and white livery, so it's a perfect match in my opinion.
Avro wrote:BTW where on the picture can you see that the ARJ is from SNBA please ? It could also be one of Malmö, Lufthansa or any other airline operating them into BRU.
And you pretend to be a spotter? Take a very close look at the aircraft and focus on the belly, fuselage and the nose. You clearly see the blue shaded belly and fuselage, and the thin orange line on the nose. No doubt on my mind that this is a SN Brussels Airlines aircraft in the latest livery.

"We"? Since when are you a decision maker at www.luchtzak.be? The biggest problem of www.luchtzak.be is that it is too much SN Brussels Airlines orientated. Introducing a new banner with exclusively SN Brussels Airlines aircraft is only a confirmation of that trend, sad as it is ...

I don't understand all the fuzz that's going on now, this topic has been open for 1 month. Nobody could help me in my search. Member Airborne did a nice effort, I discussed it with the other admins and what I understood everyone liked the new logo. Yes, it contains 1 A330. Yes, if you look closely you can see something orange on the side of the plane. Yes, if an RJ is landing it can be SNBA, but also LH, BA, AF, Blue1,....

Have you forgotten the old logo? It was a mix of pictures that I took. 2 RJ, 2 A330 all from SN. Nobody ever argued about that before....

I like the design, most of the members like the design, and it's surely not pro or contra. In my view (and most of the luchtzak-visitors) it's a wide-body, an RJ, landing-lights and an ATC-tower.

Thank you very much for this nice banner!

Could you just tell me why I don't get it on my screen when I surf with www.luchtzak.be I've just found out on another discussion that www.luchtzak.com existed. When I use the .com it works, why not with the other one?

Thanks Bart,

I just had another question, Refresh doesn't help, so I tried to logout and login again. When I logout I can see the new banner and when I'm logged in I have the old one. I checked the source of the banner and both are different. Does that mean that it is normal to get the old when you are logged in?

Steve,

it's because you don't use the theme called 'webforums_phpbb' in your profile. I need to update the other themes.
