Strangely enough, the top guns that ran that company are going to run a new airline!

Game over...We regret to inform all passengers that starting from today, 19 November 2004, all our flights are cancelled and tickets are not on sale at the moment. We apologize for the inconvenience caused.
When will this blood bad end? ? ?

Really sad that another nice livery will disappear from the European skies. I really loved their livery, especially the Volareweb.com c/s.

That's right ! I once saw a program on television (TV1 or Canvas) about Sabena-pilots that found a new job, and it featured a Belgian pilot that had found a new job with Volare (as captain on the A330 if I remember well).B737229 wrote:If I remember well this company hired a lot of belgian A320 rated pilots, I feel really bad that they have to go trough another bankruptcy!

And no Glider it is not over yet.
It is only a beginning, alas!
We predicted a bloodbath, meaning it would be violent.
What we see now are indigenous airlines disappearing, passing away, of which some were shot in the back, if I may say...
We will soon see foreigners risk their chances on the territories of the remaining indigenous airlines, making their situation even more uncomfortable.
Airlines of the make of Emirates, Etihad and next of kin, will come and push european indigenous carriers out of balance, and that will be much worse.
It is time to put a halt to these practices by applying the same measures to these operators, as their origin countries apply to our industries and citizens.

The main reason of all this results mostly of under-capitalized companies.
When some of them are quoted on stock makets, they tend to be over evaluated as well.
It is the same issue we lived up with the Internet values crash a few years ago.
Still, I assume there will be a consolidation with FR, EZY dominating in Europe.
Just my opinion.

Well, it's definitely not the end of all those failures. There will be many more bankruptcies in the future.
While one goes down there are several new LCC which are created in Europe in the meantime. The market will saturate at this speed and won't be able to absorb all this capacity offered by all those airlines if it continues like that.
We also have to be realistic (even if this might sound rude). There are too much airlines in Europe, in the low cost market as well as in the "full frills" market. Inevitably there will be some airlines which will be forced to shut down or to reduce their capacity or/and ambitions.
Now this being said, I still which the MyAir team a lot of success in this cruel world (let's hope it won't end the same way as with Volare)....
