Congratulations with the article, Antoine, and great pictures! May I ask how and when you got the ride with the Patrulla Aguila?

Thanks for the comments.

Levent,

In 1991, I had a first occasion to fly with the Patrulla Aguila. Since then I flew maybe 20 to 30 airshows with them. .
As at that time, being the "official photographer" for Belgian Air Force and Public Affairs Offices it was probably also a bit easier to get all those authorisations.
Of course this was also because within the BAF I was " medically checked" to fly in jets
However, flying with all those display teams during airshows costed me also a lot of paperwork. But it was it surely worth.

Vonsmalhausen,

Of course it wasn't just my paperwork but -especially in the beginning- having a Chief of Airstaff or a Attaché to support or sign the request was surely more important.

Once introduced into the "airshow display world" it was sometimes easier to make some arrangements.

Hello Antoine,

Let me just say that I've admired your work ever since I saw it (if I remember well a lot of your work was published in 'Looping').

Many amateur photographers, including me, can only dream of a photography career like yours.

It sure must be fun to have access to all those jets, and being able to make photo's of splitting Falcons through the open back door of a C-130, right?

Anyway, once again, thanks for so many good photos and best wishes for the future, whatever you do.

Ivan
