In a few weeks time, I am planning a visit to Dublin. Is there someone who can help me with some information about this airport?
For instance I like to know where the best places are to spot from, and how I can get there by foot. Also I like to know whether it is possible to take pictures from arriving and departing aircrafts. :lookaround:
I went to Dublin last year, and I found that one of the best places for spotting and photgraphy and video is from the departure lounge! The close proximity to the runway is alot better here than at other airports I have been in. And of course it's all weather, so rain doesn't stop you (it was raining when I was there).
Sabena and Sobelair - gone but never forgotten.

There is a road running parallel to the main runway which gives brilliant views of all landing and departing aircraft.
It's about a 25 minute walk outside the airport but once you get there you'll see a 2m grass bank (with other spotters probably already on it) which gives views into the airport from above the perimeter fence.
To find the road, bear right when you come out of Arrivals. Walk straight, beside the main road coming into the airport (in otherwords the traffic should be coming towards you), making sure not to take any turns. Go through a set of traffic lights (don't turn or you'll be in the cargo area! - keep going straight). You should come to another set of traffic lights on a main road. Turn right. Walk about 5 minutes and you'll come to another set of traffic lights. Turn right again and you should be on a road running beside the main runway. Walk down this road about 5 to 10 minutes and look for the grass bank on the left...
