Here is a photo which shows the Dogfish Head Worldwide Stout bottle. It is second on the right, next to the Kwak.

In this photo Dogfish Head is on the left in the Leffe glass. That was VC10's drink that night, the other beer was mine  And no other beer is ever served in that particular glass![/url]

Last night we had our second Verdoden Vrucht of the year. One nice thing about the onset of the colder weather is the opportunity to drink more of those warming darker beers :drink:

They are never as nice in summer I don't think.

The only darker beer we have in stock now is the Rochefort 8 (a wonderful beer like all the other Rochefort brews :drink:)

Naughty naughty to spell a beer name incorrectly!!

Now from spelling to pronunciation:

We've had several arguments and discussions about this, but, can someone please tell us how to pronounce "Ciney"?

Is it a soft "C" or hard like an English "K"?

Then, is it said like "Seeny" or "Keeny", or "Siney" or "Kiney"? :?: :?:

:teach: The C is pronounced like an S, and the EY as AI in LAIT (French for milk)

But normally we don't say anything to it, we just :drink: it

We sampled La Divine from the Silly brewery on Saturday. This was a pleasant brew, Kwak-coloured and easy to drink for an Abbey-style Tripel strength beer.

We are currently running short of beers - we have two bottles of Rochefort 8, two bottles of Corsendonk Agnus and two bottles of Sloeber. It will be nice to be able to top them up in a proper beer shop next week. We haven't been in a beer shop since 15th September.

I will, however, never allow myself to drink the "Stella" which is brewed in Luton. Second hand vomit would be more acceptable :pukey: :pukey:

At least the Stella I drink is the real, genuine item. Some people on here who like to imply they are connoissuers have also admitted to drinking the fake muck haven't they Andre?

We are having delicious Rochefort 8 on saturday, a real beauty of a beer :drink:

Why be so obnoxious, Comet. If you can't be civil and constructive please keep your opinions to yourself. If you find that difficult then perhaps limit yourself to PM'ing so that the rest of us are not inflicted with your invective.

I think that view point is one of huge naivity! The taste is the beer in the two countries is infinitesimal, believe me.

I am a drinker of principles Emirates. When a beer is described as "Belgian" then it should be brewed within the borders of Belgium and not in Luton.

Since when has Luton been in Belgium? :?

I suspect the same is happening to Leffe as well

Well I stand defeated! I'm completly sure you wouldn't even be able to taste the difference if all the cans said brewed in Belgium. Can we at least agree on that one?

As Stella is a pilsner style beer should it not be brewed in Plzen , Czechia to be authentic?

If I (or Andre) chooses to drink "fake muck" it is my choice and whatever you think will still remain your opinion. Surely as a "Yorkie" you should drink one of the Tadcaster brews not foreign stuff like Stella

I do drink British beer Concordino, I am very fond of the Wychwood brews - Hobgoblin, Circle Master and Fiddler's Elbow.

But this Yorkie likes something a little stronger than the very weak British offerings (usually around 5% for a "strong" ale) and instead goes for Rochefort 10 and Bush as strong beers. And as someone who has never been remotely drunk, I like to think I can take my drink :drink:

BieleAlbatrosy - Staropramen is a very nice beer, but I haven't had any for ages. Guinness is very good at any time of the year, especially the creamy draught version like you get in Dublin and some cans.

Next week we shall be coming over to Brussels and selecting eight varieties from the hundreds available to take home for Christmas. Imagine what an extremely hard choice that is to make...
