A while ago I placed an article and picture about RivieraJet that was going to startup a Low Cost transatlantic airline from the US to Europe.
It looked very attractive since they were going to fly Brussels - Fort Lauderdale with 767-300 airplanes.
I just visited http://www.rivierajet.com again but it doesn't look so good anymore.
The beautiful site is gone just a little message stayed behind
There is actually a TransAtlantic Canadian low cost carrier. It is called Zoom airlines. http://www.flyzoom.com They fly from all major canadian cities to London Gatwick and Paris CDG with 767-300ER. I have flown with them this summer and the service is very good. You get 2 meals and an inflight movie at no cost. It cost me 550$CAN YUL-CDG-YUL which is about 350 Euros.

I think you'll find they go to Glasgow as well - possibly Manchester also.
