Demol,

Your scenario supposes that SN BA and SLR come to an understanding. And given the current turmoil at SLR between Aldo V and some pilots, that could still take some time.

But your idea is certainly worth considering. The SLR B767 could further be utilised on TLV, like in Sabena's time.

I don't think so: the L-1011 operating on behalf of SN BA and AA is a mentioned as being a 1011-500, whereas the Hewa Bora plane (that incidently has already left today to FIH) is a 1011-250 (9Q-CHA).

Unless ALX can send its second L-1011, which is indeed a -500 (9Q-CHC)?

x André: only 9Q-CHA is used these days by ALX, 9Q-CHC is used for spare parts

x I remember seeing a L1011 flying for SLR at BRU about 2 years ago, something like Euroatlantic or so. Maybe this one?

I wonder what the reaction of the pax will be: from a comfortable A333 to a L1011 ;) For an aviation enthusiastic, a fantastisc opportunity to fly this nice aircraft. Hopefully, for the customer service officer in BRU, all pax travelling to BRU on that flight are aviation enthusiastics ;) Otherwise they will have to expect a lot of complaints!

What is the load factor?
As far as I heard the loadfactor is currently around 80-90%.

I'll try to spot the Tristar tomorrow. I guess it'll probably land around 17:00 in the evening.

Hi all,

indeed very sad news that an A330 has engine-troubles, and in summerperiod where the loads are higher than never before :(

They wanted to lease a Sobelair B767 but that went broke as well... :(

In 2 days the aircraft will be repaired, but now passengers are stuck in Dakar, Banjul, Nairobi, Kigali....

I believe that the A330's are used a lot and I think that flying to tropical Africa with full cargo-load, max take-off weights and landings on African runways (ahum ahum) is not good for an aircraft....

Let's hope we can recover from this downturn...

Demol: if you are looking at the profits of Birdy I think that Birdy only receives money from SN Brussels Airlines for every flight-hour and not for every passenger. So your calculations are not that correct....

ciao all!

Does this mean they will operate the Tristar more than one day :?:

Bart,

I just saw on biac's site that tomorrow there will be three flights all operated with A330. Are you sure that the 330 will repaired in two days or is it biac that hasn't updated the site correctly :?

There are only 2 flights sheduled bound for Africa. The flight of 11.05 to Kinshasa isn't displayed yet! Will SNBA use the same illegal procedures, like charter companies, to cover big delays?

Earlier this evening there were 3 SN flights scheduled tomorrow for Africa on the biac website.
Maybe it has something to do with SN203 to Dakar which took off at 23:12.

Well, a couple a hours ago there were still three flights. I guess biac has updated the page.

What do you exactly mean by that :?:

Frederic U r sending confusing reports into the world.
9Q-CHC is the one thats flying & the plane is a serie 500.
9Q-CHA is the one that is used for spares & is a serie 250.

But of course this serie 500 plane is not operating the Dakar flight for SNBA.
Likely candidates r coming from Portugal: Yes Air, Air Luxor or Euro Atlantic.
Hopefully will know more @ 1115 ? (c latest BIAC timing on web) when someone will spot it.

Thanks for the update, Emmy!

From BIAC website, I learned that there were only two departures to Africa, both by A333:

10:40 Nairobi via Entebbe SN 475 departed 11:03
11:35 Abidjan via Freetown SN 207 departed 11:55
The third one has completely disappared from the screens; it should have been (according to OAG):

11:00 Kinshasa via Douala SN 351

So it has not even been operated by another carrier. What happened to it? Could it not have been operated by the L 1011-500 that arrived this morning (or rather at luch time) from Banjul and Dakar under code SN 204?

Thx muisje for all that info

Today at 12:05 CS-TEB from Euroatlantic Airways arrived at BRU coming from Dakar.

I also don't know why it hasn't done another flight today :?: It could be that there are not enough crews here in BRU so they'll have to wait...

Ciao
Chris
P.S. I also saw the L-1011-500 from Air Transat this morning, does someone know its registration :?:
