While on a vacancy in the Belgian Ardennes last week 8) I saw this preserved Meteor F8 (EG-162 / K5-K) on the "Citadelle" at Dinant anyone who know it's history and how it came there
Interesting photos of aircraft, Anyone been able to track down anything on its history yet?, Please let me know if you do, Andrew Broxholme, webmaster www.meteorflight.com
Brox999 if you want to use the photos for your fantastic site , you're welcome , just use Fabke's AIRSHOW page as credit
About the plane I can tell the following , it's a Meteor F.8 and belonged to the 33rd Sqn/13th Wing of the Belgian Air Force , the construction number of this plane is 6496 and it's serial is EG162/K5-K , don't have more info about when it arrived at Dinant , ...so let's hope other members can help
What a pity this topic wasn't posted a couple of weeks ago! I was in Dinant last week, and if I'd known about this aircraft I would have tried to get to see it.
Maybe next time I will.
Sabena and Sobelair - gone but never forgotten.

Indeed to bad you couldn't see it , the problem is that you have to pay an entree fee of about 6 EURO's to see this plane as it's posed on the citadelle , some kind of old castlle
Yeah, but that 6 euro is surely worth it... If not for the plane you get an amzing view over Dinant, and the citadelle itself is pretty nice too...
I think I been there over 10 times already...
