The husband of my mother her friend is a Cessna pilot. He was flying (a few weeks ago) as an instructor around the town of Dendermonde. While cruising suddenly everything stopped working. People on the ground heard that the engine didn't make any noise so they called the emergency number. Francis (that's the instructor his name) managed to make an emergency landing in a field. The aircraft (I don't know which aircraft) did stop but it turned completely so it was lying on the wings. The 2 pilots managed to get out. But this wasn't the end of all trouble: the emergency services couldn't find the aircraft as it was invisible in the field. The pilot and his pupil had to locate the aircraft with their mobile phone.
As there were no human mistakes involved, the pilots didn't have to worry about that. There was one thing that gave them a bad feeling: their doors were still closed when they touched the ground. With a little bit of bad luck they got stuck and there could have been a fire. Francis was scared of himself that he hadn't thought about that (which is a very important and basic measure). The 2 pilots started flying again some days later and the pupil still wants to become a pilot.
I don't know if there has already something been posted about this subject but I thought I should tell this because one of the pilots is somebody I know. There were some articles in the local newspapers I think. I know there aren't too many details in the report but I heard it from my mum and she doesn't know a lot about aviation. I hope I have posted it in the correct forum and that you enjoyed reading it.

Hi,
The only thing I know is that it was a 2 seat Cessna (C150 or 152) that was airborne in Grimbergen. It must have happened about the first week of august and the accident happened becouse of broken cilinderhead. I heard the airfieldofficer mention these brief comments just before I took off there on august 11 and then it happenend the week before.
Good thing to remember me to unlock the doors when making an emergency-landing. Thanks.
