Richard Branson , the big boss of Virgin wanna buy the concordes from British Airways, its failed allready with Air France, if he can buy the concordes for Virgin Atlantic, he wanna hold the concordes another 30 years in the air, than they are 60 years old, i think thats a little bit to old for an airplane.

To keep Concorde in the air would be sheer foolishness. The type is literally dropping to bits, hardly a week goes by without a piece dropping off in-flight, making emergency landings, being taken out of service because it is unsound. As soon as the final scheduled flight is over, the Certificate of Airworthiness should be removed from the Concorde, and it should be put into retirement in a museum, or as a gate guard or something. It was a superb aircraft in its day, and almost a world beater (never forget that the Soviet Tu-144 was in fact the world's first supersonic passenger aircraft to fly), but its day has long past. The stresses upon the airframe imposed by supersonic flight must be much more than those in normal flight (it expands every time it flies supersonic), and as such, the airframe would not have as long a service life. It is far better to withdraw it soon, rather than to keep it flying until they all fall apart and more life are lost just for the sake of something which was once prestigious but is now a death trap. Consider that statistically the Concorde has a poor safety record. Out of 13 in service, one has crashed, consider also the number of 747s in service compared to the fatal crashes, and the poorer safety record becomes evident. Also, Concorde has more technical delays and problems than any other type in the BA fleet.
Sabena and Sobelair - gone but never forgotten.

Toulouse won't give support to Concordes anymore after BA's withdrawal... so Richard is indeed only dreaming......October is very sure the end!

Sonny, this was already discussed in another thread. BA will not sell its Concordes. Like AF, it will donate them to musea.
