The aircraft is really disturbing other traffic at Melsbroek
What do you mean by that Bart ? Runway 25R is closed so do you mean that the military planes aren't able to taxi like usually ???

Anyway, I saw it one TV tonight as well 8O

But don't worry the crew won't keep itself locked up in the plane for a very long time, since they need food and I don't think that they have a lot of reserve inside the plane.....

Here's a small update.
The crew indeed locked themselfs up in the aircraft and food was passed to the crew thru the hatches.

Tomorrow there are meetings with the bloodsucking laywers to try and resolve this situation. The crew had files a flight planned to Hahn but this was cancelled by the belgians.

It's really sad that the Ukranian government is not paying it bills and through this harming the business of a perfectly viable operator, whose only mistake it is to have the Ukranian state as a majority shareholder....

If this continues, whole Europe will be a danger zone for ADB, forcing them to loos a big part of their business.

I just think about something. Why don't they impound the An225. Isn't that based in Stuttgart :?:

BTW on TV they said that the unpaid bills were to some Cypriote company...

ciao,
TriStar

Nope, it isn't based in Stuttgart. As far as I know the AN225 doesn't have any real base at all.

A little bit off topic, The AN225 has it's base in Kiev just as all other ADB planes.

But it isn't very often in Kiev ;) I heard on a german TV program a few days ago that the AN225 is flying from task to task without really coming back to home. They have different crews in the plane and some engineers and technicans with them. So they can be away for several weeks in a row without going back home.

Anyway to get back to the topic, I heard this morning on RTBF radio that the amount of unpaid bills would be equal to 40 million Dollars. 8O

Let's hope they will find an agreement as soon as possible.

They seem to have underestimated the value of the AN124 :D

Hopefully this will be resolved quickly...

I just heard on the news they moved the aircraft. Anyone who knows where it's parked now?

Now it's parked at Melsbroek, they moved it to there from the Brucargo-ramp. (as said 5 times before  )

I'm sorry. Misunderstood. I thought the aircraft was first at Melsbroek, and was now moved to an other place...

I saw the aircraft from the haachtse steenweg, on the side of the apron. You can see it from the Esso station.

Vonsmalhausen, just admit you have placed a tent near the airport where you can wait until a special aircraft appears :p
