Nice pics Vonsmal

Too bad of the "double fence", it was really difficult for decent photography. Next year I will go on Saturday morning and take a ladder with me.

This year I only paid a quick visit in the afternoon, because of my injury.

I only made a few pictures, the first ones can be seen on:

i understand this double fence is needed for security, but would'nd it be better to put the nadar on the side of the public and the rope on the airstrip side ?? (instead of placing the nadar on the airstrip and a ridicul rope to prevent people from getting there ?) this way at least it would be possible to take pics of the planes.
also letting cars park right on that rope is something i call a verry stupid idee  whit the people standing between the cars, imagin what would have happend if there would have been a plane who actualy DID slip into the spectator area ; it's just impossible for those people to get out of the way :? not realy a plus for security
i don't critesise the event, it's a verry nice one  , and i wil come back in the future ; but these details deserves some reconsederation.

I can say I had a really marvelous weekend out there! I've been at Schaffen both saturday afternoon and sunday untill 1430h, so I think I saw most of the aircraft arrive (and leave).
A real improvement for security (in my opinion) will be when they don't allow a helicopter to land too close to an other aircraft (or vice versa)! I really thought I was witnessing my first ever crash :?
But which were your favourite aircraft of the weekend? Mine are the Swift, the Miles and the scaled down Fury replica.

Hi Tailgunner,

I made a few pics on Sunday afternoon (didn't stay long due to an injury). I posted the link in a previous reply to this topic.

Regards, Robin Bamps.

I was there too on Saturday and Sunday and although the "double" barrier, I think it's one of the only places in Belgium where you can get that close to the arriving and landing a/c.
Futhermore with a little "recce" about the best places, it wasn't a problem at all to find out a place where those barriers bothered that much.
On the over 1000 pictures I made ther'e only a few where you see a little part of those barriers.
So let's be happy with this kind of organization, hoping that those people will continue giving us, -as one of the only in Belgium- the best opportunities to admire aviation

Here's one of a rather unusual take-off...
